The Mad Ferret Band Biography 2015! Folk Duo, Perth, Scotland! The Mad Ferret Band are a Scottish duo, known on the folk scene for their hard hitting blend of traditional and contemporary Folk music. Their lively, energetic performances are packed with “blisteringly fast Mandolin solos”, tight harmonies, driving Cajon beats and earthmoving Guitar sounds. The influence from both Scottish and Irish folk music has helped shape their unique sound.! ! The Duo features Chris Woods on Mandolin, Guitar and Vocals and Sandy Stirton on Guitar, Cajon and Vocals.! ! Based in Perth, Scotland they are an extremely hard working band having played an average of 180 gigs a year across the U.K. and Europe. Since forming in 2012 they have been honing their music by playing the pub and small venue scene. ! They look to be even busier in 2015, with more festival performances and European tours on the way.! ! Notable gigs include: Danny Kyle Stage at Celtic Connections 2014, Northern Roots Festival 2014 & 2015, Montrose Music Festival, Mull Music Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Perth Concert Hall 2014, multiple European tours in Switzerland.! ! Releases! Their first studio album was released in september 2014 on their own label, Mad Ferret Records. They have also received nation airplay on BBC Radio Scotland as well as many local networks.! !
