2. EXECUTIVE REPORTS
Captains Report: There were 37 Full members this year. New members welcomed include Rose Olson,
Anna Lim, Helen MacKay and affiliate, Ina Graham. There was an average of 20 players participate in
Tuesday play days this being down 3 from last year.
There were 27 play days scheduled but one had to be cancelled as it fell on July 1 which is a statutory
holiday. Of the remaining, 3 were rained out which was the same as last year. Scheduled formats
included 17 individual events, 4 partner events and 4 foursome events. It was suggested that if
members would like to see any changes to let the executive know or perhaps place the same in the
suggestion box.
The Open Invitation held on July 22 had 39 people participate, 21 women and 18 men. Format was 2
Best Balls gross and net and everyone enjoyed themselves.
Heather Shaw and Val Haslam as representatives of LLGA attended the Member Events Meetings,
unfortunately many scheduled events had to be cancelled due to lack of participation. It was felt this
was in part to poor communication and possibly that most events were held on a Sunday. The MEC will
take that into consideration when scheduling events in 2015.
This is the third year since the activation of our webpage and it is hoped members find it useful. As our
web page cannot be password protected a roster list was e-mailed to all members.
This year instead of awarding balls for chip-ins, it was decided to pay $2.00 for the first chip-in and
$1.00 for the second.
For the month of April, play days will start at 9:00 am and for the remainder of the months the starting
time will be 8:30 am.
A suggestion was made to have the Fall General Meeting a week earlier next year due to the fact that
some members start curling and this would allow them to attend.
Based on survey results, there will be no LLGA Christmas Luncheon this year.
Report attached.
Director at Large: No Report
Secretary/Treasurer Report: The opening bank balance this year was $439.68. We had 37 members
bringing in dues of $1,295.00 and we collected $723.00 from toonies, $1520.00 from Team play the
remainder coming from others including Pin Round, Dorothy Olive Franklin and Beat the Champ
totaling revenue of $3,723.00.
Our ladies play days this year paid out $1,303.00. Team expenses were $1,920.00 a little over budget
due to higher food costs but we also collected more. Including other expenses to date we've paid out
$3,768.26. The estimated paid out for the year is a little over $4,000.00. We are still waiting to receive
monies from this year’s Amateur Tournament. To date we have a bank balance of $394.42.
Report attached.
Handicap Chair Report: Val Haslam for Suzette Chartier. It was requested that scores be posted in a
more timely fashion and that Suzette was doing a great job in keeping everyone on track.
Rules Chair Report: This year many of our regular games were converted to par points for scoring. This
was done to try to make each game more fun and to enable players to pick up their ball when the have
reached their Equitable Stroke maximum or when they have surpassed a net bogey score.
The Tuesday before the Ladies Club Championship, Tom Hall came out for a Q & A session on rules that
may present problems for some of our members. It was very well received and was suggested that we
have more of these sessions next year.
Last spring we received a letter from Golf BC re the use of winter rules and when to start to post scores
in the spring. The conditions at Ledgeview were thought to be appropriate to post scores at the
beginning of April even though winter rules are in effect. We will know by April 1st if Ledgeview or Golf
BC makes any suggestions that differ with this procedure.
Report attached.
Social Convener Chair Report: Planning menus and providing decorations for events throughout the
year is a part of the Social Convener’s duties. Events include Team play and the Ladies Amateur. Food is
provided by Kevin McKellar of 2-Friends Catering. A survey was sent out and it was decided to cancel
the Christmas Luncheon.
Also throughout the year there were flowers, sympathy and get well cards sent out. There is still a little
money left available to spend.
Report attached.
1st Team Chair Report: It was a great season of team, playing courses many had not played before and
hosting teams that had not played Ledgeview before. Thank you to all of the Ledgeview Ladies who
participated.
We played away to Ft. Langley and Quilchena and home to Shaughnessy and Marine Drive.

2nd Team Chair Report: We played away to NicoWynd and Ft. Langley and home to Pitt Meadows and
Surrey. The visiting teams enjoyed playing Ledgeview and were impressed immensely with the
condition of the course. The meals were also appreciated we want to thank Kevin for providing great
meals for the visiting teams. Thank you to all the ladies who participated and hope they sign up for
next year.
Report attached.
Amateur Chair Report: The Ledgeview Ladies' Amateur Tournament was held on June 21st and 22nd,
2014. The weather for both days was great and again it was very successful. The field consisted of 72
ladies (15 members and 57 non-members).
This year’s charity of choice was "Blessing in a Back Pack".
The suggested date for next year’s tournament is June 20th and June 22st.
