Sarah Bengston Martin Hi Mike & Christy, I would love to be able to attend the 35th class reunion this summer however it coincides with a Conference that I'll be attending in Las Vegas that same week! I wanted to provide an update about myself for the memory book. Here goes: Sarah (Bengtson) Martin Married to: Rick Martin Rick and I have been living in St Helens, Oregon for nearly 11 years. I continue to work for Sony Computer Entertainment America where I'm a District Merchandising Manager for a field team that covers six states, now including Iowa! Don't be surprised if you see me working with my rep in a local electronics store! Ask Cheryl! While keeping busy with Sony I'm also helping my husband manage his Home Inspection Business, MHI Services Inc. I continue to be involved in my church and with my community as a retired Planning Commissioner, Member of the Transportation Citizen Advisory Committee, Vice President of Columbian Toastmasters, Member of the St Helens Chamber of Commerce, Secretary of the Willamette Valley Saint Bernard Club, and Member of Saint Bernard Club of America. I'm currently campaigning a four year old Male St Bernard, Cody in Conformation competition at AKC dog Shows and preparing for a litter of puppies this summer. I became a grandmother last summer to Mia Bella Cole.It's taken some getting used to. I prefer puppies to babies, but now that she's becoming a toddler I'm really loving it!. What's up with Organic food and no Sugar? No wonder her parents won't leave her at my house overnight! If you want to keep in touch, I'm on Facebook! Ken Brown We continue to live in the country in Cannon Falls, MN. Three kids: David 28 wife Sara ( expecting first grandchild in January 2012) Drew 25 and friend Michelle, and Megan 22 and Ryan who have been discussing the " rest of their lives together" for the last year. Probably a wedding in the making at some point. I continue in my 31st year in the financial services industry with Raymond James Financial Services. My office is in Bloomington, MN. Our sons play in a band-recreationally- which plays downtown Minneapolis and in various venues around the Twin Cities. I continue to play guitar in a rock band Loose Cannonsfor the last 7 years. We primarily benefit gigs and are now up to 12 members, including our horn section. Occasionally my daughter Meg will sing in with us or the boys may join us from time to time. David and Sara were married in October 2007. David was injured in the 35W bridge collapse when his car fell and another vehicle landed on top of his. Thankfully, he continues to make progress in his recovery. Julie and I celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this May. As our families age, so do our parents whose needs intensify as well. We still live in Morningside. We have been blessed with 4 kids… Emily 30, Chris 28, Matthew 26 and Allison 26. Another great blessing in our lives is our 6 grandkids...Lillie 9, Isabel 7, Sophia 4, Tennaiah almost 7, Jaedan 13 and Aubree 10. I have worked for MidAmerican Energy for 32 years and am an Assistant Unit Operator at the Neal South power plant. We have been very busy there due to all the flooding! --- We love spending time with family, spending time at church, and spending time at our newly acquired cabin in Bemidji, that my son-in-law and I purchased from my folks. --- God has definitely been good to us! Our children, Nick 32 & Lindsey 29 have definitely honored their mother & father. Nick is still the IT Tech for Cross County Banks, his wife, Leann teaches in the Cherry Valley School system, & Lindsey is an RN, her husband, Mike is a Respritory Therapist. We have 5 beautiful grandchildren, Austin 10, Michael 7, Daniel 6, Westan 18, and Hunter 16. Hunter and Westan came to us through our daughter’s marriage 3 years ago and we love them as if they had always been with us. Mike is still with his partners at Noacon, Inc. (Commercial General Contractors) for over 20 years. Christy has been in the Christian music ministry for many years, but full time since 2004. Mike plays tennis 3 times a week and we both ride our Harley’s with our friends as often as possible. Mike rides a Road King and Christy rides a Dyna Low Rider. We center our lives around our Heavenly Father God. Without His wisdom, grace, mercy and guidance we would not have made it. Every year since 2009 we have been blessed to go to Honduras with a Medical/Dental/Optical Mission. We are part of the lay-crew that handles registration, children’s ministry, music and church services. That is a book in itself. Lord willing we’ll head out again in January 2012. My wife Karen and I live on a small acreage in west central Minnesota, near Fergus Falls. I have worked for the past twenty-five years as the Waste Management Administrator for Otter Tail County and most recently additionally two additional counties. I am also the Executive Director of the Prairie Lakes Municipal Solid Waste Authority. Karen is a teacher and teaches early childhood classes. In my free time I like to hunt and fish. Karen and I have raised and trained Labrador Retrievers. In the summer we enjoy riding our motorcycle. We have one son. He is a wildlife biologist for the US Fish and Wildlife Service and lives near St. Louis, Missouri. I just wanted to let people know that I won't be able to make it to the reunion even though I had already sent in my registration and also asked Dave Ludwig to save me a spot in the golf tournament. This will be the first class reunion I have ever missed. I always look forward to each and everyone of these gatherings to catch up with everyone's lives and recall the good times we had in high school. The reason for missing this year's event is due to the unexpected success of my youngest daughter's fast pitch softball All Star team. I am one of the coaches, and we have advanced from San Diego County district play, to last week's State tournament, and now have qualified for the Western National Tournament the week of August 1-7 in Spokane, WA. Our prayers are with those that have been and still are affected by the flood of 2011 Ted Plambeck Ted & Cherry Plambeck reside in Phoenix, Arizona and will be celebrating their 3rd anniversary at the end of August. Ted has two adopted children from a previous marriage and Cherry has 3 kids of her own plus 7 Grandchildren. Ted works for McKesson Pharmaceuticals in the Patient Relationship Solutions division. Ted attained his certification as a golf teaching professional in October 2009 through the United States Golf Teacher’s Federation. Along with golf, Ted is still very active with music; performing in his church orchestra on oboe, and singing in various locations throughout the Phoenix area. Ted sings the National Anthem every year for the San Francisco Giants, during their spring training in Scottsdale, Arizona. Cherry is originally from Lexington, KY and up until a few years ago, lived in Mitchell, SD and was owner of Cherrybee’s Floral & Gifts before moving on to Phoenix. Cherry is an HR and Executive Assistant for a local mortgage company. My son Jeffrey lives in Storm Lake, Iowa and is training to be a Lineman with Mid American Energy. He has worked for Mid American for several years. My son Marty is an actor. He presently is living in New York but moving to Los Angeles in September. He has been in many films, sitcoms, dramas, and daytime tv.
