Did we complain when gas was 25 cents

when it was 19 cents a gallon?
Sarah Bengston Martin
Hi Mike & Christy,
I would love to be able to attend the 35th class reunion this summer however it coincides with a
Conference that I'll be attending in Las Vegas that same
week!
I wanted to provide an update about myself for the memory
book. Here goes:
Sarah (Bengtson) Martin
Married to: Rick Martin
Rick and I have been living in St Helens, Oregon for nearly 11
years. I continue to work for Sony Computer Entertainment
America where I'm a District Merchandising Manager for a
field team that covers six states, now including Iowa! Don't be
surprised if you see me working with my rep in a local electronics store! Ask Cheryl!
While keeping busy with Sony I'm also helping my husband
manage his Home Inspection Business, MHI Services Inc. I
continue to be involved in my church and with my community
as a retired Planning Commissioner, Member of the Transportation Citizen Advisory Committee, Vice President of Columbian Toastmasters, Member of the St Helens Chamber of
Commerce, Secretary of the Willamette Valley Saint Bernard Club, and Member of Saint Bernard
Club of America.
I'm currently campaigning a four year old Male St Bernard, Cody in Conformation competition at
AKC dog Shows and preparing for a litter of puppies this summer.
I became a grandmother last summer to Mia Bella Cole. It's taken some getting used to. I prefer
puppies to babies, but now that
she's becoming a toddler
I'm really loving it!. What's up
with Organic food and
no Sugar? No wonder her parents won't leave her at
my house overnight!
If you want to keep in touch, I'm
on Facebook!

On the field, on the floor - Old East High will make the score
As our banners go conquering on.
If we win, lose the game, - Old East High will be the same
As our banners go conquering on.
For it’s hie hie he - For Old East High are we.
Shout out your feelings loud and strong – Rah! Rah!
For where ere we go, (play) - They will always know (say)
That our banners go conquering on – Let’s fight! - As our banners go conquering on.

God has truly blessed our marriage over these past 34 years
(married Aug 5, 1977). Our
children, Nick 32 & Lindsey 29
have definitely honored their
mother & father. Nick is still
the IT Tech for Cross County
Banks, his wife, Leann teaches
in the Cherry Valley School
system, & Lindsey is an RN, her husband, Mike is a
Respritory Therapist. We have 5 beautiful grandchildren, Austin 10, Michael 7, Daniel 6, Westan 18, and
Hunter 16. Hunter and Westan came to us through our
daughter’s marriage 3 years ago and we love them as
if they had always been with us. Mike is still with his
partners at Noacon, Inc. (Commercial General Contractors) for over 20 years. Christy has been in the Christian music ministry for many
years, but full time since 2004. Mike plays tennis 3 times a week and we both ride our
Harley’s with our friends as often as possible. Mike rides a Road King and Christy rides a
Dyna Low Rider. We center our lives around our Heavenly Father God. Without His wisdom, grace, mercy and guidance we would not have made it. Every year since 2009 we
have been blessed to go to Honduras with a Medical/Dental/Optical Mission. We are part
of the lay-crew that handles registration, children’s ministry, music and church services.
That is a book in itself. Lord willing we’ll head out again in January 2012.

Hi Mike (ok...you too Christy)...
I just wanted to let people know that I won't be able to make it to the reunion even though I had already sent in my registration and also asked Dave
Ludwig to save me a spot in the golf tournament.
This will be the first class reunion I have ever missed. I always look forward to each and everyone of these gatherings to catch up with everyone's
lives and recall the good times we had in high school.
The reason for missing this year's event is due to the unexpected success of
my youngest daughter's fast pitch softball All Star team. I am one of the
coaches, and we have advanced from San Diego County district play, to
last week's State tournament, and now have qualified for the Western National Tournament the week of August 1-7 in Spokane, WA. Wish us
Luck !
Please give my regards to all, wishing everyone good weather for the reunion weekend and safe travels.
Your classmate,
Tim Hogan
PS: I will definitely be retired from coaching by the time the 40th reunion
rolls around...so mark me down now as the first to confirm I will be there in

Alma Mater
One the banks of old Missouri, …. Rolling to the sea,
Stands our East High Alma Mater, …. Hail O! Hail to thee.
Eager eyes are watching o’er you …. You shall never lack
Staunch defenders of your colors. …. The orange and the black.
From your vaulted halls of learning …. We have loved so well.
Go your loyal sons and daughters, …. Your high fame to tell.
Proud are we of all your laurels, …. On field and floor and track.
High we lift your royal banner, …. The orange and the black.
We will ever live to love you, …. Live to praise your name,
Live to make our lives add luster….To your glorious fame
And when time and distance part us, …. Memory
takes us back …. To our East High Alma Mater
…. The orange and the black.

We have all been given an opportunity
to choose a path in life.
We must use wisdom in choosing this path, for
every moment we have been given is precious and once spent
will never return to us again.
Those who have gone on before us have finished the race
and come to the end of their journey.
We will miss them and think of them often.
