Metro Loma is an affordable
apartment community located in southern Glendale's
Tropico neighborhood. Just
one block from the Glendale
Transportation Center, Metro
Loma is a cornerstone to a
new pedestrian-oriented transit village in the City of Glendale's San Fernando Corridor
revitalization area.
Metro Loma will provide affordable housing for Glendale
and low-income workers and
their families. It consists of 44
units with 1 one-bedroom, 29 two-bedroom, and 14 three-bedroom
units, all of which are affordable to very low income households. With
113,492 total sq. ft., the development is a four-story wood framed
stucco structure above two levels of subterranean parking providing
106 spaces. The building is an articulation of elements found in Spanish
Colonial Revival architecture, and is inspired by the nearby Glendale
Transportation Center housed in the historic Southern Pacific Train Depot. Additional amenities include a 1,296 sq. ft. Community Center,
16,775 sq. ft. of outdoor spaces consisting of an entry courtyard, an internal courtyard for passive recreation, an area with a tot-lot and a
sports court, unit hard wiring for computer internet, an on-site laundry
facility, and a unique Public Art piece to compliment the courtyard
and inspire the residents and guests.
