Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina,
the band developed in the hardcore and
emo scene. Developing into a national
tour act, the band was able to promote
their own independent release and
create their own fan base, though they
obviously didn’t fit into any pre-concieved
sound easily. The group drew the
attention of Trustkill Records who
released their debut album in 2002.

Peter Bjorn and John Falling Out
Falling Out is a assemblage of
ingenious pop songs, cleverly
recorded and masterfully arranged,
sounds drawn from the simple (the
Speak & Spell talking toy that opens
the album) to the symphonic (tidy
string arrangements). Think early
Squeeze and The Jam and several
decades worth of British Invasion,
Canadian popsmiths A.C. Newman
and Joel Plaskett, and the euphoric
rush of The Shins. 10 songs about
falling in and Falling Out of love with
people, places, and ideas. Includes
the Swedish singles “It Beats Me
Every Time” and “Teen Love” (a
Concretes cover) and the standout
album opener “Far Away, By My
Side”.

“Out of nowhere comes freshfaced Dustin Bentall with a set of
simple, well-penned alt-country

a whiskey-rough voice far beyond

With several hundred live dates around the
world, independent Montreal-based electric
violinist Eugene Draw aka Dr. Draw is one of
the most dynamic live performers around. His
sophomore CD Train 64, which was released in
October 2005, was heavily promoted through a
successful coast-to-coast performance tour
with his full band. Highlights of the tour were
two sold-out nights at Toronto’s Hugh’s Room
and a full page Arts cover story in The Toronto
Star. The relentless touring from coast-tocoast achieved phenomenal sales chart
success for this indie artist. According to
Nielson Soundscan Charts, Dr. Draw climbed
the Soundscan charts across the country
during the summer of 2006.
Scans reached #12 on Montreal city sales, #11
on Kitchener city sales, #2 on Toronto city
sales, #100 on the national chart, #4 on
Edmonton city sales, #4 on Calgary sales – all
during July and August tour.
Not actual cover art
There is no single word that will do justice to
the 23 year old performance artist, violinist
and potential rock star Eugene Draw. But
“intense” comes close.” Stephen Pedersen,
The Chronicle Herald, Halifax

x National publicity campaign around release and tour (reviews, interviews,

Splitsville is an album of love songs for
broken hearts, featuring two separate EP's
combined together to create the feel of two
broken men, brought to their knees by the
trials of love. Equal parts black humor,
dreamy pop and gorgeous multi-layered hihats, this is an album for people who like
things, but hate stuff.
Awol One is an international man, famous
like a dwarf planet, with a bit of a reputation
as a ladies man’s man. He has won many
trophies, is a two-time Rhodes Scholar and
has made out with almost 30,000 womens.
With his muddy humor and sharp witty
observations, Awol One is the male version of
a female walrus.
Josh Martinez is made of money and charm,
has 3 children from 4 mothers, is an amateur
ornithologist and a semi-pro curler. A former
X-games gold medallist, he has been without
the use of his legs for the last three years,
and as such, is bed ridden and covered in
boils.

Let Me Be The One
Live At
Wednesday December 13, 2006 was an
unseasonably mild and rainy night in west-end
Toronto. At a sold-out Hugh's Room on
Dundas St., a few blocks from where Rik
Emmett grew up, the proprietor Holmes Hooks
introduced The Strung-Out Troubadours to the
audience in his storied folk club, and Rik &
Dave Dunlop offered up an eclectic acoustic
guitar / vocal duo intensity that only they can
generate. Captured for posterity via the
engineering skills of Steve Skingley, these
tunes resonate with the high-wire virtuosity and
kinship that these two musicians share. The
Troubs are an acclaimed act of breathtaking
musicianship, and the songs on this live CD
bear witness to the addictive qualities of their
strung-out passion.
Emmett and Dunlop now follow their acclaimed
duo release, Strung-Out Troubadours, with a
live CD. The studio album received airplay at
smooth jazz stations nationally, as well as
CBC. The new focus track and lead single, the
classic "All Along The Watchtower", will be
serviced to classic rock and other radio formats
as well, in order to further raise the profile and
crossover of the act. This release will coincide &
build with Emmett and Dunlop's nominations in
three categories at the national Smooth Jazz
Awards show, as well as Emmett's induction in
March into the Music Industry Hall of Fame as a
founding member of Triumph. SOT is also

In Stitches
Los Angeles based band, The Actual’s IN
STITCHES, will mark the label’s official
launch when released on May 29. IN
STITCHES, produced by Douglas Grean
and Scott Weiland, is a fantastic 13 song
juggernaut of smartypants punk-pop that,
while sung from the heart, is obviously
carefully filtered through a serious set of
brains.
IN STITCHES is the follow up to the
band’s acclaimed Eyeball Records
release SONGS ON RADIO IDAHO
which won rave reviews from everyone
from the ‘zines to the national press.
Rolling Stone said of lead singer Max
Bernstein “…he knows is way around
both a melodic hook and an understated
chorus”…

Sea Wolf

PRESS QUOTES:
“Buzz Band” – LA Times
TRACK LISTING:
1. You’re A Wolf
2. The Garden That

3. I Made A Resolution
4. Ses Monuments
5. I Don’t Know If I’ll Be
Back This Time
Sea Wolf is the vehicle for Alex Church’s
songs – who is not only Sea Wolf’s
songwriter and singer but also the band’s
only invariable member. Born in the
small god rush town of Columbia,
California, Church’s musical memories
were shaped by ad hoc bluegrass outfits
playing for tourists on sidewalks of his
hometown coupled with the Beatles and
Willie Nelson records on his Mom’s
turntable. Church wandered from
California twice – once as a boy, when
he and his mother spent a year living in a
tent in the French countryside, and once
for college at NYU’s film school. He
wrote his first song the week he
graduated from college and returned to
California, where he later became the
founding bass player of Los Angeles
outfit Irving. “Even though I’ve always
returned here, I don’t feel like the music
has much of a connection to one particular
place,” Church explains. “In a way, it’s not
rooted in any place.” That sound Church
sought and achieved is a combination of
delicate, arching melodies and foggy,
elegiac narratives. Over the spare
instrumentation, his voice can be weary or
buoyant, but it’s always capable of leaving
an indelible impression.

Sherwood
A Different Light
After originally meeting up at Cal Poly,
San Luis Obispo, CA – these 4 music
geeks with shared influences ranging
from the The Beach Boys to Jimmy Eat
World, decided to form a band. 400
shows and 4 years later, Ton Anderson,
founder of MySpace, personally picked
Sherwood to be one of the first groups on
his new label.
Once they signed with MySpace,
Sherwood jumped on the Warped Tour,
played their hearts out and shook hands
with every fan that they could.
Sherwood’s work ethic and road-dog
mentality has garnered them dedicated
fans in every major and secondary
market in the US. Their tour dates in
2007 will continue to expose them to new
fans in every part of the country.
The band’s debut release for MySpace
Records is produced by Lou Giordano
(Taking Back Sunday, the Ataris) and
expands on their trademark “post emo”
sound highlighting their pop sensibilities
while keeping their indie rock edge.

Louder is the new instrumental release
from New York hip hop production icon
Ayatollah. Ayatollah’s signature soulful
sound played a key part in the be driven
explosion of mid 90’s hip hop, most
notalbly for Mos Def on “Ms. Fatbooty”,
the lead single from his debut album
“Black on Both Sides”. Having since
produced hits for some of the biggest
names in hip hop today including G Unit,
Ghostface, Rakim Talib Kweli, Pharoahe
Monch, Tragedy Khadafi and R.A. The
Rugged Man, Ayatollah steps away from
collaborative efforts on “Louder” and
redirects attention back to his main craft,
the beats. “Louder” is an instrumental
collection of all new Ayatollah
compositions, none of which have ever
been heard before.
Ayatollah is one of those rare producers
who has managed to bridge the gap
between classic New York hip hop
production and today’s current style.
“Louder”, Ayatollah’s second instrumental
album with Nature Sounds is more of the
signature sound fans have come to expect
from the legendary producer

Salvamm’o Munno
One of Italy's greatest artists Enzo Avitabile is a
musical pioneer; cultivating his sax techniques in
the GI bars of Naples, he has lived an extraordinary
musical career. Having released a dozen highly
acclaimed solo albums and recorded with artists
such as Tina Turner, James Brown and Randy
Crawford, he was ready for something completely
different and in 2000 it was to Campania that
Avitabile returned to his roots, researching the
extraordinary music and culture of the Bottari, the
olive
barrel
beaters
of
Southern
Italy.
A medieval ritual to exorcise evil spirits from their
farmlands, Bottari has been kept alive in the village
of Portico. Over the years the ritual has turned into
a distinct musical culture, with entire villages
turning out to chase spirits away from their fields
lead by a beat master or capopattuglia. Harnessing
the heartbeat of this tradition Avitabile set on a
course to combine his heritage with jazz and
Mediterranean blues. Spiced with his soulful voice
and global inflections, he created a pulsating,
energetic journey while preserving the thunderous
hypnotic Bottari to perfection. An incredible project
was born and when word got out artists including
Khaled, Hugh Massakela and Manu Dibango all asked
to contribute to his album. 'Save the World' was
released originally in 2004 to outstanding reviews
crediting it as the most original World Music Album of
the Year.

Witch Witch DVD
The group Witch was born from a
marriage of apparently contradictory
influences. J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr.
renown and his long time friend Dave
Sweetapple were interested in forming a
hard rock band. They found willing and
able conspiratiors in Kyle Thomas and
Asa Irons; members New England avantfolk outfit Feathers. On Their
eponymous debut album, this line-up
mounts a mighty sonic tumult that
hearkens back to classic heavy metal
sound of early 70’s outfits while still
sounding modern in it’s assault (and
without falling into the ubiquitous “stoner
rock” pigeonhole).

Get The Guests
The High Strung did not set out to write and
record their “defining” album but, call t an
accident or dub it luck, they have. Get the
Guests is surely to be one of the most original
albums released in 2007 and some of its
wonder lies in the fact that it doesn’t sound
like a band trying to do anything…it just
sounds like a band who is. In all aspects Get
the Guests is a far cry from the band’s
previous two releases but it also makes you
listen to those albums and think, ah…now I
see where they were headed this whole time.
Charter sketches have adorned the band’s
cannon before, but never as much as they do
now. “Rimbaud/Rambo” introduces a narrator
trying to decide which titular man is a better
romantic model. “The Curator” exposes a
malicious museum curator covering the
museum walls with his own work. “Arrow” is
what happens if Cupid shoots himself. The
harmonies are striking, the bass and drums
are creative as hell without ridding the songs
of their brilliant hooks, and Josh Malerman’s
voice is as unique and convincing as it’s ever
been. The songs are fun…they are bright…and
the band finally makes a celebration of
combining a subtle sense of humour with
powerful lyrics the listener will take with him
along after the room is silent again.
“The Detroit-born quartet High Strung have a
gift for nervy, agitated melodies that get under
your skin as much as they make you hum
along” – Rolling Stone Magazine

The Three 4 Tens from Psychedelphia
are back! The new album is finished and
we at the label are blown away – the
opening track sounds like a cross
between Good Earth-era Feelies and
R.E.M. on peyote buttons. The second
track resembles the Happy Mondays
meets the Doors and Echo and the
Bummymen, while the third track is a 21st
century blast of Who-esque rock. And
the rest of the album follows suit. Their
live set is an indescribable lava lamp
psychedelic rave-up that rivals the
legendary Feelies or Iron Butterfly.

Ray Manzarek’s organ riffs, basslines nicked from ‘Have Love Will Travel’…you name it,
they’be appropriated it, and damn good job they’ve done of it too!” – Paul Kerr, Guitar

The Get Quick, a rock and roll outfit from
Philadelphia, offer their second album for
Rainbow Quartz: See You in the Crossfire.
Their previous album How the Story Goes
was recorded at the legendary Sear Sound in
NYC with producer Michael Musmanno (Lilys,
Outkast); this time they partnered with
producer Walter Ego (Ultamite Nemesis).
The band recently played the CMJ Music
Festival in New York before a packed house
at the Arlene’s Grocery Rainbow Quartz
Showcase. They blew the roof off with an
inspired set that reminded we at the label of a
cross between Nirvana, XTC, Devo and
Televisoin – we are not kidding! The new
album has elements of all these bands
including hints of T. Rex as well as Urge
Overkill.
Their new album is an eclectic rocket ride
from start to finish. Unleashing the bombast
and banging the glam gong like never before,
perfect pop songs with soaring melodies and
high harmonies come armed with claws of
buzzsaw guitars and snarling synths. Welltailored songs tumble one after another as
avant-garde flourishes thrust through the mix in
a mad headlong rush. Erik Evol is a song
writing machine and talented performer who is
going to surprise a lot of people in 2007. We’ll
see You in the Crossfire.

SUSPYRE's music has a wide range of influences
and members with distinct personalities that make
up the band's sound. All have a common interest in
metal, while jazz and classical are also at the top of
their lists. SUSPYRE's current goal is to push the
musical boundaries even further by creating a
fusion of the best music to date and then
attempting to add new life to it. It all started in the
summer of 2001 with a jam session at former
drummer Chris Myers' house with guitarists Gregg
Rossetti and Rich Skibinsky. In 2002 some
recordings of the songs "I See", "Perfect, and
"Father of Hater" were done, but never actually
completed. SUSPYRE'S first show was May 31st,
2003 when bassist Kirk Schwenkler joined the
band. Direction of music shifted and member
replacements happened to suit the new direction of
this new born band. October 24th, 2005 marks the
band’s debut release "THE SILVERY IMAGE"
independently, due to the overwhelmingly great
response SUSPYRE garnered with press and
progressive metal fans, Nightmare records quickly
offered the band a deal long before their follow up
album A GREAT DIVIDE was complete. Now here
for all to enjoy is SUSPYRE's new offering, A
GREAT DIVIDE, this album is more diverse in every
sense of the word: Long pieces vs. short pieces,
straight forward rhythms vs. superimposing odd
meters, microtonal clusters and just intonation vs.
12TET. Balancing heavy riffs, lush orchestral parts
and classic prog, tastefully with panash.

The Dreadful Yawns is Ben Gmetro
and a constantly changing line-up of
band members. The band started in
the folk-pop tradition of Neil Young
with their first CD Early in’03, moved
toward a more psychedelic sound
with their second CD The Dreadful
Yawms (as the last band signed by
Greg Shaw to his Bomp! Label).
This release, Rest, is a testament to
Ben’s ability in the studio. It’s back to
folk-pop but with rich orchestrations,
beautiful lap-steel and finger-picked
guitars, and richly layered vocal
melodies and textures.
