Newsletter Issue 29 16th May 2014 Message from Jackie & Nicola We hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather - We have here! We even had our lunch outside on Friday under the shade sails! We would like to take this opportunity to remind parents to send in named sun hats. Before every outing to the garden we apply/reapply factor 50 sun cream. Whilst on the subject of clothing please bear in mind that we do undertake lots of messy play at nursery as it is a great sensory experience and whilst the children do wear aprons it is ideal if the children are not sent to nursery in their best clothes... Around the rooms This week in Acorns we have had lots of fun in the garden, enjoying the sunshine and the slides! Natalie Ready, steady... Weeeee! We have also been playing with the animals a lot this week and learning their names. On Friday we had lots of fun getting messy whilst doing hand painting. Amy Thank you to everyone for coming along to our second parents evening. We hope you found it informative and that you enjoyed looking through your children’s Learning Journeys. For those of you who couldn’t make it we are happy for you to look at the Learning Journeys at any time but we can’t, unfortunately, let them be taken home. On Monday Nicola continued her Behaviour Ambassador training, in this session ‘conflict resolution’ was discussed. Nicola will be disseminating this learning within the setting with training sessions and staff 1 to 1's. Painting our own hands! We have had a lovely week in Squirrels we have spent most of the time in our sunny garden. As always feel free to pop in to see us or drop an email to [email protected] Manager Email: [email protected] Worms continue to be a source of fascination! What a lovely warm end to the week! In Magpies We have done a lot of experimenting - finding out how to get the dinosaurs and fossils out of the big block of ice! I think it's melting! We put it in the sun, we squirted it with warm coloured water and then broke the rest up with sticks. When we came back later all of the ice had melted and the water had evaporated! Jenny Jackie & Nicola Owner We enjoyed making dens and putting on shows. We created our own muddy puddles whilst watering the plants and we have also taken our play dough and water play outside! www.park-day-nursery.co.uk Newsletter Issue 29 16th May 2014 Our week in pictures Will we find buried treasure or just more worms??
