ACTIVITIES FOR SUMMER HOLIDAYS 2016-2017
CLASS - NURSERY
Dear Parent,
Summer vacation is the time of the year when you get an opportunity to spend
maximum time with your child. To beat the summer heat and make these days
fun filled we have planned the following interesting activities which will
enhance your child’s creative abilities.
 ”Reading is fun, loads of fun”. Introduce your child to picture books,
storybooks, and converse with them to develop their vocabulary and
communication skills by encouraging them to talk about the pictures they
see in the storybook on their own.
Suggested story book series:




Bubbles
Bruno
Noddy
Pepper

To enhance the fine motor skills of your child, let’s engage them in
the following activities:
Free hand drawing of objects like tree, flower, Sun, house, ball etc.
Colouring within an enclosed area
Hand/Fist printing
Making objects of their choice with play dough (e.g. fruits,
vegetables, shapes)
Sequencing of coloured Cadbury gems, shapes
Paper tearing and pasting.
 BEDTIME RACE
Time: 15 minutes
Material: Small timer
Directions:
 Children love challenge and you can use that to your advantage at
bedtime.
 Set a small timer for 15 minutes as a signal for your child to run for
the bedroom, change clothes, brush his/her teeth and hop into
bed.
 Your child wins if the timer has not gone off.
Learning outcomes:

This fun loving activity will be an encouragement for children
to understand the importance and value of time and to learn to
do their work within the specific time.
