Nursery
This term we have been learning about Autumn and Hallowe’en .
We have really enjoyed learning about hibernation and can tell you
all about ‘Hibernaculums’!
Our recent trip to Benmore Botanical Gardens was a great success.
We enjoyed exploring the Gardens and collected lots of leaves
which we have been using to create colourful and interesting
displays.
Our Hallowe’en Party was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
Many thanks for all the hard work which went into making
such incredible outfits.
Mrs Sylvia Clark, our newly appointed Head Teacher, and Mrs
Fisher, our Depute Head Teacher, presented prizes to Alfie
McArthur and Helen MacGillivray.

Laura, Fiona and Kirsty for helping to
make the party
such a great
success!

Diwali
We have started to learn about
Diwali as our next topic.
Diwali is the Hindu Festival of Light
and we look forward to learning
about Rama and Sita; Symmetry;
Mhendi Design; Fireworks and lots
more.
We would welcome help from our
parents and carers with this topic.
Perhaps you are, or know, a Firefighter and could arrange visits to
talk about fire safety ?
Maybe you have items relating to
India or Diwali which we could borrow for our display?
Would you like to be involved in a
craft project such as Rangoli or
Mhendi Design?
Are you musical? Or scientifically
minded? Do you enjoy baking?
We would welcome the opportunity
to work in partnership with you and
create a fun and informative topic
for our young children. Please speak
to staff if you can help in any way.
Nursery Entrance
We want to develop our entrance
corridor, making it bright and cheerful;
a place where we can share ideas and
suggestions!
We are currently gathering ideas and
suggestions from the children and
would welcome any ideas our parents
and carers may have.
Please share your ideas with staff.
You may have noticed we now have an
‘Items For Sale’ board outside the
Nursery. Please feel free to use this
space to sell/pass on any unwanted
items such as Prams, Cots, Toys etc.
and make room for Christmas goodies!
Dates For Your Diary

Thursday 15th Nov. 7pm, meeting for all Pre-5 Parents/
Carers. This will be held in the Nursery and is a chance
for you to meet our new management team and discuss
their plans to take the Nursery forward.

Thursday 2oth November, Book Fayre arrives at Dunoon
Primary School. Details of Nursery visit to follow.

Thursday 29th November, Dunoon Primary School
Christmas Fayre, 7pm—9pm. All welcome.
·
Week commencing Monday 3rd December, Big Draw at
Dunoon Primary Nursery.
·
Thursday 13th December, dress rehearsal of Nativity.
·
Friday 14th December, performance of Nativity.
·
Friday 21st December, Nursery closes for Christmas
holiday.
·
Monday 7th January 2013 Nursery re-opens.
