Ottawa: Female uses Stolen Credit Cards to be identified In the early hours of October 18 th 2016 a female attended a convenience store located in the 400 block of Hazeldean Road and made several fraudulent purchases using a credit card not belonging to her. The stolen credit cards were taken from a theft from vehicle incident in the same area. The suspect may also be in possession of other stolen identity cards not belonging to her. Suspect to identify for a Break & Enter and Fraud on Hog’s Back Road The Ottawa Police Service and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect in a break and enter and also a fraud investigation. On September 23, 2016, a male suspect broke into a business on Hog’s Back Road area where he stole credit cards. He subsequently used one of the stolen credit cards at various stores in Ottawa. The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 6’ (183cm), 180 lbs (82kg), athletic build, with a chinstrap beard, short dark hair (see pictures). Ottawa: Suspect Uses Stolen Credit Cards UPDATE: MALE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED On Thursday August 25 th 2016 a male made several fraudulent purchases using stolen credit cards. The purchases were made at convenience stores along Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven during the early hours. The suspect may also be in possession of other stolen identity cards not belonging to him that was a result of a residential break and enter overnight. Nepean: Suspect Using Stolen Credit Cards UPDATE: MALE HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED On Wednesday August 17 th 2016 a male attended several gas stations along Woodroffe Avenue in Nepean and made fraudulent purchases using stolen credit cards. The purchases were made in the early hours and believed to be related to a theft from vehicle. The suspect may be in possession of other bank cards not belonging to him. Ottawa: Organized FraudSuspect Targets Audio Store On Tuesday August 2 nd 2016 a male attended an audio store in Stittsville and left with merchandise that had been fraudulently purchased using a stolen credit card. The suspect picked up the Samsung TVs and accessories totalling several thousands of dollars. It is believed the suspect is part of an organized network operating from Quebec. Desc; Male Mediterranean descent, approximately 50 years old, 5’10, wearing white bbcap backwards, yellow construction shirt, shorts and black shoes. Vehicle desc; Late model white GMC 4 door pickup, some damage to body (dents on right front fender, rear fender), aluminum side rails. Ottawa: Fraud Suspect to be Identified On July 27th 2016 an unidentified female attended a financial institution in rural west Ottawa (Carp) and attempted to cash a fraudulent Government of Canada cheque. The same suspect was responsible for a similar incident in late June. The suspect may still be in possession of fake identity cards. Desc; black female, heavy build, approximately 5’9” tall (175cm), 35-45 years old, braided hair tied in a bun, spoke with a French accent. Please view the attached photo. Ottawa: Suspect Using Stolen Credit Cards In early June an unidentified male attended several convenience store and gas stations making purchases with credit cards not belonging to him. The male made several purchases at retailers along St. Laurent Blvd in Ottawa East. He may also be possession of other stolen identity cards belonging to the victim. Fraud Suspect Identified to be On Wednesday July 6 t h 2016 a male attended a financial institution located in the Rideau Center and attempted to open an account using fraudulent identification. The suspect presented a Quebec driver’s license and other identity cards believed to be stolen. Please view the attached photo provided by investigator. Desc; Caucasian male, wearing a cream colored cargo shorts, grey t-shirt with a red design, light beard and prescription glasses, tattoo of a tribal design on left bicep, and possibly a dragon (or similar) tattoo on left shoulder/neck area, French speaking. Fraud Suspect Identified to be The Ottawa Police Organized Fraud Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance with the identity a male who attempted to fraudulently access a bank account. On Wednesday June 22nd a male attended a financial institution located in the 1000 block of Woodroffe Ave and attempted access an account using false identity cards. The suspect used a Quebec driver’s license with the victim’s information in the attempt. Please view the attached photo. Ottawa: Suspects Involved in Granny Scam The Ottawa Police Organized Fraud Unit and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public’s assistance with the identity of two male believed responsible for a fraud scam. Also known as a “emergency fraud scam or granny scam” the victim was contacted and told a family member was involved in a motor vehicle accident and were required to help pay for damages. In lieu of cash, they were advised to pay for damages with gift cards. The suspects were provided with the gift card codes over the phone. The suspects attended several retail stores in the Ottawa area with the codes and made purchases totaling thousands in value. Please view the attached photos provided by investigator.
