The EPSILON 7 Paramotor
In this supplement to the ADVANCE EPSILON 7 manual you will find
everything you need to know for flying this glider with a motor.
Range of use
Because of its good takeoff qualities, high stability and compactness
the EPSILON 7 is ideally suitable for paramotoring. We recommend
the optional Hybrid-Risers, which can also be used for flight without
the motor.
Hybrid-Risers
The hybrid-risers have trimmers which can be used in flight to counteract the turning effect of the motor. For flight without the motor the
trim loops can be hooked into the main carabiners, so as to keep
the EN/LTF certification status. The hybrid risers also have a speedbar system. The speedbar may only be used with trimmers closed, or
with a minimal asymmetric trim setting required to counter the turning
effect of the motor.
CAUTION: The speedbar must not be used when trim is
applied, because the extreme flight characteristics would
then become much more demanding.
CAUTION: Before every takeoff check that the trims are
fully closed i.e. fully pulled in. In the air you can set
the trimmers (in their cleats) symmetrically for speed, or
asymmetrically to counteract the turning effect of the
motor.

Loading
To make use of the maximum certified in-flight weights for paramotoring the EPSILON 7 28 and 30 sizes need one or two C base lines
to be changed.
We recommend that you let an expert do the work on your
lines and risers. The necessary information can be obtained
from the line plan and table.
INFO: If the wing has been ordered as a paramotor version with
hybrid-risers these lines will have been fitted already. The
higher specification C lines can be identified by a black sleeve
on the quicklink loop.
INFO: If you already have an EPSILON 7 paraglider and then
order the hybrid-risers the new C lines will be delivered with
them.

Flight characteristics
Certification
This section expands “Flight characteristics” in the EPSILON 7 manual, which also basically applies to paramotoring.
Provided that it is equipped with the hybrid-risers appropriate to the
glider size the EPSILON 7 has LTF 23-05 certification for sizes 26, 28
and 30 as well as EN/LTF 926-2 certification for paraglider flight.
The certified weight ranges are shown on page 8.
The flight characteristics of the EPSILON 7 are virtually identical when
flying with or without a motor, especially at the same wing loading.
In the expanded paramotoring weight ranges manouevring will be
slightly more dynamic because of the higher wing loading. Similarly,
with trim open, manoeuvres will be more dynamic because of the
lower angle of attack. Even though the EPSILON 7 is very stable and
compact the trimmers should stay closed when flying through turbulent air.
Compatible motors
The necessary test flights were carried out with a commercially available motor, using low variable hang points. Other types of motor can
be approved by the manufacturer subject to a compatibility/ handling
test having been carried out.
A complete list of all combinations already certified is published on
www.advance.ch/epsilon
INFO: EPSILON 7 EN/LTF certification for flight without
motor but with the hybrid-risers is only valid when
the trimmers are fixed i.e. hung in the carabiners.
INFO: LTF 23-05 requires a compatibility test for every
motor model (see preceding section).
The certification requirements can be seen on
