1974 Jensen Interceptor Series III Convertible Registration no. XBY
1974 Jensen Interceptor Series III Convertible Registration no. XBY 325M Chassis no. 9471 Engine no. 23409471 Supplied new via Newbury Motors Ltd to C S Withers and first registered ‘CW 8877’, this example of one of Jensen’s most sought after models was owned by one Antony Bussy, of Colchester from August 1981. Subsequently sold by him to Harvard Marketing Services, of Virginia Water, the car was purchased by Mr J Warbey in 1993 from Roger Felton. The latter spent £2,500 with Martin-Horne in Oxford before exporting the car to Hong Kong. While in Hong Kong a bare metal re-spray was undertaken and remote central locking and radio/CD sound system fitted at a cost of HK$80,000 (£6,500). Early in 1996 the car was re-imported into the UK, where further restoration work was carried out by Autobodies, of Totnes, Devon. In September 1996 Classic Car Interiors, also of Totnes, completed a full re-trim in hide, re-carpeted the interior and fitted a new mohair hood and cover at a cost of £3,650. The present owner purchased the car in November 1997, having spent some £1,350 on minor fault finding, bumpers and a full service. The vehicle was then re-issued with its pre-export registration mark before being registered in Guernsey as ‘7280’. Finished in silver blue with superb matching leather interior, the car is described as in good condition throughout and offered with sundry invoices, MoT to 31 August 2004 and Swansea V5.
