Michigan Architecture
Revamped print and online identity for the architecture program at the University of Michigan It’s easy: First focus on the life of the place through the people and their work. It’s hard: Now acquire all of the material that will express the breadth of the program. Note: This work—the branding and the material strategies—was initially developed by M1/DTW for the architecture program at Taubman College. With support from a new Dean, it was expanded as the umbrella brand for the college and is still in use today. WHILE IT MAY BE DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE TODAY (ESPECIALLY WITH THE PROLIFERATION OF EVERYWHERE SMART-PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY), MATERIALS HAD RELIED HEAVILY ON GENERIC, STOCK IMAGES I SOUGHT TO COUNTERACT THIS THROUGH THE USE OF IMAGES (MANY OF WHICH ARE MY OWN) WHICH CAPTURED ARE RANGE OF CONTEMPORARY SCENES OF ANN ARBOR, DETROIT, AND GREATER MICHIGAN.
