Our “We Care” program reflects our commitment to patient-centered care and defines the attitudes and
behaviors expected of every person at The Bellevue Hospital. These standards are woven into our Incentive
Program, the PIER Program and our inservice programs.
PIER Quality Improvement Program
A program that recognizes the efforts of a team, individual, committee or department that achieves a positive
improvement outcome in a hospital-quality standard.
Service Awards Banquet
Each year, employees celebrating increments of five-year anniversaries are recognized and presented with service
awards at a dinner with co-workers, guests, Board of Trustee members, and the Executive Staff.
Incentive Program
Each eligible employee has the potential to receive a quarterly bonus of up to 10% of their yearly gross salary,
by working together as a team, providing excellent customer service, and helping the hospital meet financial
goals. The results of your efforts will be achieving high patient satisfaction scores while controlling or reducing
operating expenses.
Employee Children’s Scholarship Program
The Bellevue Hospital awards up to ten scholarships annually in amounts up to $1,500 to eligible dependents of
employees. Awards are announced during National Hospital Week to celebrate and recognize our hospital employees
and their children.
Professional Development Program
Up to 75% of the tuition of job-related course of study will be reimbursed for a pre-approved course. Full-time
employees are eligible for up to $1,500 per year. Part-time employees can receive up to $800 per year. Contact your
department director or Human Resources for additional information.
Continuing Education
Your professional growth through continuing education is important to the
hospital, your fellow team members and most importantly - our patients.
With prior approval, we will pay you and your expenses for attending

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA):
Twelve weeks of unpaid leave during a 12 month period for any full or part-time
employee who has worked for The Bellevue Hospital for 12 months and 1,250 hours
the previous 12 months.
Shared Leave Program:
Employees may voluntarily donate a portion of their accrued vacation time to other
employees who have exhausted their own sick, vacation, and holiday time. It’s how we
show we are a part of a family and that “We Care.”

Acupuncture Services
Acupuncture services with Dr. Susan Graham are offered at a discounted rate of $8 each (regularly $55) for smoking cessation and weight loss sessions only. Good for TBH employees and immediate family members. Appointments are necessary and can be scheduled on Tuesdays from 8:00-9:00 a.m. by phoning Extension 5550.
Annual Physicals
Free physicals are available for all employees once a year. Contact the Occupational Health Center at
Extension 4488 to schedule your appointment.
Birthday Meals
Celebrate with a $20 credit for the Main Station Café.
Cholesterol Testing/Lipid Profile
One free cholesterol test/lipid profile is offered each year.
No appointment or physician order is needed. You must
register at the Main Desk. Tell them this is your yearly
employee benefit and TBH is the guarantor. Lab hours are
M-F 7 a.m. To 7 p.m. and Saturdays 7 a.m. to Noon.

Free for employees.
Fitness Classes
Classes are offered at a variety of times and days. Employees
new to the program will receive their first class free.

All employees are eligible for a free flu vaccination

Mammograms
All employees who have worked for at least 90 days are eligible for one annual screening or diagnostic mammogram.

PSA’s
All male employees who have worked at least 90 days are eligible to receive one annual PSA screening. No appointment
or physician order is needed. You must register at the Main Desk. Tell them this is your yearly employee benefit and TBH
is the guarantor. Lab hours are M-F 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays 7 a.m. to Noon. A free prostate screening is also held
yearly for spouses, family, and community members.
