ACCREDITATIONS
All entered participants and team officials are requested to check in on arrival for accreditation as follows:
• Media representatives
• IOF officials, VIP and Guests
Each registered person must present his/her passport or identity card before he/she is ac-credited. A
personal accreditation card with an access code will be handed out at registration. All accredited persons
must wear their accreditation card at all relevant times for access to restricted zones.
Teams will be asked to give the phone numbers of team contacts to the WOC Office so that the
organisers can quickly contact key team officials if necessary.
The teams package includes the following items:
• Accreditation card for all team menbers.
• Bulletin 4 for all team members
• Sportident card (if you don´t have).
• Model event map for all team members.
NUMBERS BIDS
All competitors must wear their respective number bibs on the front at all World Cup Spain races. The
bibs must be visible in their entirety; they shall not be folded over or cut down. The numbers bids will
be delivery in the Team Official´s meetings.
For the prize-giving ceremonies, the prize-winners will be given special bibs which must be worn during
the ceremony on the chest in place of the number bibs.
COMPETITIONS
RULES
The Competition Rules for IOF Foot Orienteering Events, version valid from 1st January 2014 and IOF
Special Rules for the 2014 World Cup in Orienteering shall apply. http://orienteering.org/footorienteering/rules/
TERRAIN
The terrain is undoubtedly the best so far mapped in the region of Murcia, for the use of Orienteering.
Located north east of the city of Cehegín, in an area known as Coto de las Maravillas (which gives its
name to the map) and the location of the source of the river of Gilico.
The land has plenty of detail, with plenty of valleys, spurs, gullies, etc.., it has mainly gentle climb. It is
covered with pine forests, alternating with semi-open in some areas, there are also pine reforestation
areas that limit visibility, but do not slow down the running speed.

EMBARGOED AREA AND MODEL EVENT
The competition areas “Coto de las Maravillas” (Long and middle distance) is embargoed area
for competitors, team officials and others who, through knowledge of the terrain or the
competitions, may influence the results of the competitions, it is prohibited to enter the
embargoed area. These embargoed area are valid until the competitions are over.
Model Event
The Model Event will be organized on Fiday the 4th of April, close to the comptetition area in “Coto de las
Maravillas”.

CLASSES AND ENTRY REGULATIONS
There is one class for women and one class for men. There are no age restrictions.

PUCHING SYSTEM
We use the Sportident system. Please bring your own e-card. If you don´t have one you can rent one or
buy one at the competition area.
Rent prize: 3 € by day.
CLOTHING RESTRICTIONS
There are no formal clothing restrictions but full body cover is recommended for the World Cup Event.

LIVE RESULTS, GPS AND TV
The World Cup Spain 2014 competition will be televised live on the Internet, an on-line internet result
service and live tracking will also beused. Output from TV cameras will be provided for spectators in the
arena at every competition, using two large screens.
During all the World Cup Spain there are TV cameras along the courses. Camera positions are not
marked on the maps and may have small temporary towers. Camera teams will stay in the same place
for all the runners on a course.
GPS tracking system will be used in both competitions. Selected runners (on Saturday 40 men and 40
women according to the World Ranking as published on 30th March on Sunday the best runners
according to Saturday results, 40 men and 40 women) have to wear GPS transmitters.
All the equipments will be provided by the organisers.

ANTI-DOPING
Doping is strictly forbidden, and the organisers of Orienteering World Cup Spain 2014 are dedicated to
supporting the anti-doping authorities in their work.
Doping controls may be carried out any time during the competition period. As some sites for the doping
controls may be a few minutes’ drive away, we suggest that athletes are prepared at all events to take
along some dry clothes to change into after their race.
Doping tests are always carried out in accordance with the procedures described in the WADA
International Standard of testing. The IOF Anti-Doping Code and rules apply as of 1st February 2010.
Athletes who are selected for the doping tests must bring an official identification (with photo) to the
doping test area. The athlete should also bring along their therapeutic use exemption (TUE) if applicable.
In general, it is advisable that the athletes bring along their ID to all the competitions and events.
ENTRIES
Nominal entries deadline: 25 March 2014.
Nominal entries shall include the following information:
All competitors and team officials: family name, first name, nation, sex, year of birth, IOF ranking ID
(competitors only) and passport number.

Entry fees must be paid before 25 March 2014.
ENTRY FEES
Currency: Euro.
Competitors: 100 EUR entry (include accreditation).
Teams which want to entry reserve runners must communicate to the organization before March
the 25th. An accreditation fee of 15€ will be charged for every runner.
Team officials: 50 EUR accreditation.
The accreditation fee includes identity badges, model event maps, bulletin 4, new competition maps,
start and results lists.
Costs for food, accomodation and transport is not included in accreditation fee or entry fee.

1. The payer is responsible for all bank fees and charges. No entry or reservation will be confirmed until
the full payment has been received.
2. In keeping with Rule 9.3 of the IOF competition rules, competitors of teams who have not paid their
entry fees will be barred from competing if no agreement has been reached about payment.

TRANSPORT AND PARKING
Teams are responsible for their own transport to and from the events.
On request, the organizers can provide transport on bus from official accommodation to Competition
centre (4, 5 and 6 April 2014): 30 € by person. Departure times from the official bus stops will be strictly
observed. There is no alternative public transport for those who miss the bus. The official bus will stop in
front of the Arena and it will pick up the teams in the same point.

ARENA RESTAURANT AND CAFETERIA
The restaurant services of the competition centre offer delicious and tasty breakfasts, sandwiches and
lunches that are sure to satisfy your hunger. Generous portions include, in addition to the main course,
(meat, fish or pasta), also a salad or cold pasta, soft drink or water, bread, dessert and coffee.

INSURANCE
The organisers decline any liability that might occur through participation in IOF World Cup Events. Each
person participates at their own risk and is responsible for their own insurance coverage (illness and
accident).

PRIZE MONEY
Prize money will be awarded by the event organiser to the best men and women in both competitions:
1,000 EUR/race a total of 2,000 EUR.

1ST place: 250 € men and 250 € women.
2nd place: 150 € men and 150 € women.
3rd place: 100 € men adn 150 € women.
Middle distance race
1ST place: 250 € men and 250 € women.
2nd place: 150 € men and 150 € women.

IOF OFFICIAL, VIP AND GUESTS
We welcome IOF officials and Guests to World Cup Spain 2014.
IOF officials, VIPs and Guests are asked to register through the online accreditation system.
The accreditation fee is 120 EUR, this fee gives the right to:
Use the VIP tent in the competition areas.
Receive start and result lists and competition maps.
Accommodation in **** Hotel in Murcia and official transport.
Entry in the National public race (XXVI International Trophy Murcia Costa Cálida).
The deadline for payment of accreditation and services ordered is 14th March 2014. The accreditation
will not be valid until the full accreditation fee has been paid.
Transport and parking.
VIP accreditation cards, transport tickets and parking tickets will be provided by the
World Cup Spain office at the Event Centre.
If IOF OFFICIAL, VIP AND GUESTS prefer a accreditation witout accomodation, transport and entry in
the National public race the accreditation fee is free.

MEDIA ACCREDITATION
For the accreditation use the Entry FORM for media representatives published on
http://www.wcupspain2014.es/ and send it by email to [email protected].
Media representatives are kindly requested to check in for accreditation at the Event Office upon arrival.
Personal ID card with personal dates will be handed out at accreditation. All accredited persons must
wear their ID cards at all relevant times (it must be presented for access to permitted zones etc.).
NATIONAL PUBLIC RACE
National Competition will be organized in concurrence with the World Cup 2014 in the same Competition
Area.
