Students in first grade have been learning to play intermediate level tunes on the piano.
By now they should know to place their thumbs on middle C, the key with the happy sticker.
For notes on Treble clef! use the right hand. For notes on Bass clef !
use the left hand. First,
practice saying the notes. Then practice clapping out the song one measure at a time. Quarter
notes !
get one beat. Half notes!
get two beats and Whole notes !
get four beats. Also in
this song, the words Da Capo al Fine means go to the end. The end of this song is actually back
at the beginning. The two dots at the end of each line show that that line has to be repeated.
