Also standing the American Saddlebred stallion, Globetrotter’s Ally Oop. A premier training and sales facility for World & National Champion American Saddlebred horses and Hackney Ponies. Riding lessons also available. College-based stables providing instruction in all disciplines throughout the school year to Stephens College students as well as community youth/adults. Directions: From I-70, take 63 North to Route B. North on Route B to Oakland Church Rd. Turn left (west). At first stop sign, turn left onto Oakland Gravel Rd. Stables are on the right, just past the church. Directions: From I-70, take 63 South. Turn east on Angel Ln., then north on Hardwick Ln. to High Spirits Farm first entrance. Park next to indoor arena building. Directions: From I-70, take 63 S. to Broadway exit. Go west on Broadway to Old 63 N. Turn right (north) and stables will be on your left. SCHEDULE SCHEDULE 10 a.m. - BABIES!! Prized stallion Ally Oop and his champion babies. 11 a.m. - The Hackney Pony—small but mighty!! Brenda and amateur owners work with World and National Champion Hackney ponies. Noon - American Saddlebred Western Pleasure Horses—Local riders and horses who won the William Shatner Western Pleasure qualifying classes and Finals showcase beauty and relaxed fun, all rolled up in one. SCHEDULE 10 a.m. - Horse Shows 101—Watch a demo and learn about all types of horse shows from our expert trainers. 10 a.m. - Tour-- Sharon Marohl provides a review of the history of Stephens College’s Equestrian program. 11 a.m. - Experience World and National Champion driving horses and ponies. 11 a.m. - Hunters and Jumpers Demo--Professor Sara Linde Patel and students. Noon - Tour of historic Walnut Hill Farm and the original home of legend Tom Bass, with current owner Anna Marie Knipp. 1 p.m. - Riding Lesson. Adult and child riding lesson demo and tips. 1 p.m. - Tour of historic Walnut Hill Farm and the original home of legend Tom Bass, with current owner Anna Marie Knipp. 2 p.m. - Pleasure Horses!! Akeman Bridge Rd., Columbia (573-355-0678) A full-care horse boarding facility providing Dressage, Show Jumping, & Eventing lessons, plus shows and clinics. Other amenities include riding arenas, trails and jumping, and hacking fields. Directions: From I-70, take 63 North to Hinton Rd. West on Hinton Rd. to VV. South on VV to Akeman Bridge for 2.5 miles OR Stadium/Route E North for 6.5 miles to Akeman Bridge. East on Akeman Bridge 2.8 miles. SCHEDULE 10 a.m. - Individual training and Exercising—Fox Run boarders will work with their horses in riding areas throughout the farm. 8600 East Hwy AB, Columbia (940-727-1824) Home to National Champion Reining Horses. Provides training and instruction to horses and riders from novice through open divisions. Jim has judged the American Quarter Horse Association World Championship horse shows and has judged and competed at the highest levels in Reining Horse and Paint Horse competitions Directions: From I-70, take Hwy 63 South to the Deer Park Store J-turn exit to Hwy AB (about 2 miles south of KOMU-TV) Take the J-turn to travel north on 63 about 100 yards before exiting right (east) on AB. The Stables are 1.2 miles on the right. SCHEDULE 11 a.m. - Pas de Deux—In the indoor arena, experience a “Pas de Deux,” a a dressage “dance”, set to music and featuring Lora Blair and Karin Loftin. 10 a.m. -Reining--Watch patterns and maneuvers with World Champion “Tullula Can Hula,” and others. Noon - Show Jumping—Learn about the art and science of show jumping, in the outdoor arena or the cross-country jumping field. Noon - Showcase—Maneuvers from “Tullula Can Hula” and other champions. 1 p.m. - What is Eventing?—Learn all about Eventing from the Hinkson Valley Pony Club members. 2 p.m. - USPC Games—Have fun and frolic the Pony Club way! Concessions available at this stable by: The Hinkson Valley Pony Club 11 a.m. - Training—Learn the process with “Tullula Can Hula,” and others. 1 p.m. - Dance--“Tullula Can Hula” dances again with Jim aboard. 2 p.m. - Finale--“Tullula Can Hula” closes out the show.
