PORR Bau GmbH (Region 1 / Major Projects Building Construction and Building Construction Vienna New Buildings) built the new headquarters of ÖBB Infrastruktur AG at the newly designed Praterstern in Vienna’s 2nd district with a construction time of approximately 2 years. The eight-storeyed office building consists of two nearly parallel buildings which are connected by external passage ways and a roofed central courtyard. The atrium can be accessed via the main entrance’s staircase and forms the core of the building which functions as a place of communication and event location. The building also includes a conference centre, staff restaurant, ÖBB shop and a fitness studio. challenge for the production of the reinforced concrete slabs (numerous work steps, interfaces and delivery times of components). The carcass was built on a floor area of approx. 5,000m². Bentonite sealing was applied to waterproof the foundation due to the local ground water conditions. Displacers were used for the building’s ceilings to reduce its weight and make its foundation easier. Its combination with the planned thermal activation of the building (cooling for office floors) was a PORR AG | Absberggasse 47, A-1100 Wien | T | F | [email protected] | ZZZSRUUJURXSFRP Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
