This past year we thanked and congratulated Betty Bendall who
retired after many years of dedicated service to DASO.
Our team is strengthened by the contributions of our amazing
volunteers and students. Many thanks for all your help!
We are deeply grateful to our funders – the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services,
the County of Oxford, the Ontario Trillium Foundation,
the Oxford Community Foundation – and to the many
individual donors, service clubs, churches, businesses,
foundations and all those who believe in our work.
Without you we could not offer our essential programs
and services.

thousands of heartbreaking stories. That isn’t always easy. But we persevere because I am here

That’s why the new name and logo for our children exposed to domestic violence program is so appropriate. Believe in Me (formerly Journeys) is designed for children and teenagers, and their mothers, who have experienced Thoreau
domestic abuse in their own homes. The families meet weekly to share, heal, rebuild and regain what had been lost. The logo incorporates the key messages so important to that process – appropriately encased in a heart! This important program exemplifies DASO’s commitment to breaking the cycle of violence, an important step toward our goal of – once and for all – ending the abuse of
women and children. Yes, there is still much to be done. But we remain committed to our vision and mission because we believe that together
