"When we stop to think about America and what it means to its citizens, the word that comes to mind is simply: home. Home in the
truest sense of the word. In this piece, the junior and senior ladies have creatively illustrated the history of this great nation, the
unifying symbols of the past, and the sturdiness of our foundation. Created with four books painted with an American flag, the word
HOME is spelled out and also displays classic texts of American history in the background. These pieces are set on a custom shelf
built, and to be installed, by Mr. Musick. The carving on the shelf is a prayer, "Land of the Free, Come Home All Our Brave'. We
created this project to be an insightful and patriotic memorial for our great nation."

LA#122 Arrows
The 5th grade art project is an acrylic and pen on canvas interpretation of the verse Psalm 127:5 which issue the challenge for
parents to prepare their children as an archer prepares his arrows. Most of us parents are familiar with the previous verse which
states, “Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward,” but the following verse which is our class verse is
the challenge, “As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” Our children are to be considered as
weapons that we place in our bow and project into this world to make an impact and spread the love of God. God has great plans for
our children. The fact that you placed your child at Cornerstone Christian Academy shows that you are sharpening and shaping the
arrow so that it can make its mark. Arrows are not meant to be kept safe in the quiver. He wants us to eventually release our arrows.
Who gets to be the primary "crafter" of the arrow? It is the family, the church, and the school. It isn’t an accident that the family is
listed first. As parents we place the arrow into the bow and choose when we believe that arrow is ready to make its mark. As your
child’s teacher, it is my sincere prayer that your child makes their mark on this world and can pierce this world with the love of God.
As each arrow is different and unique, so are your children, their gift, and their mark. Thank you for entrusting your child and their
education to our school. (Mrs. Jessica Edwards)

Based on Galatians 5:22-23, the Junior Kindergarten class has placed their handprints in the shape of a heart to reflect God’s love for

kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. At CCA we strive to foster these fruits and nurture them as each
student exhibits them. “22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness,
self-control; against such things there is no law.” ~Galatians 5:22-23 ~

soldiers and our country, as we have learned about the sacrifices that were made for America to be the great country that it is
today. The white base, red stripe, and blue star were meant to mimic that of our flag, to remind us that we have freedom and that

This helmet is a genuine American helmet from the era of WWII, an original M51 Steel pot helmet with olive paint. It is over 50
years old and features patriotic art by the junior and senior gentlemen.
"This WWII, army surplus helmet, is divided into four parts. The right hand side contains red and white stripes, symbolizing the same
stripes on our national flag which represent the blood shed for this country's innocence, by our brave men and women in the
military. The left side is blue with unpainted stars. This not only stands for our portion of the flag that represents all of our states,
but also represents how each state, and each piece of America has contributed to get us where we are today. The front portion,
contains the start and end dates for the United States involvement in WWII. And finally the back not only contains the number of
U.S. casualties in WWII, but also references Psalm 144: 1 (NIV). The entire Psalm is praise to God, about how God not only helps the
Psalmist defeat his enemies, but also helps him defend himself. Psalm 144:1 says: 'Praise be to the Lord my Rock, who trains my
hands for war, my fingers for battle.'"
