A Conference of Scriptural Holiness April 10th and 11th • PASTORS will experience refreshment, fellowship, and dynamic teaching. Pastors will also find needed encouragement for the difficult job of presenting the full and true Gospel to a culture —and church world—that is increasingly hostile to hearing it! • CHURCH LEADERS AND TEACHERS will discover fresh resources and insights, as well as hear clearly that “it is a good and right thing, always and everywhere” for United Methodists to believe and share the Word of God without fear and with great confidence! • CHURCH MEMBERS and attendees will enjoy seasons of prayer and worship, and will be encouraged through equipping sessions to seek the deeper things of the faith, growing in appreciation of the richness and spiritual depth of our United Methodist tradition. T here was a time when the Methodist movement offered broken, confused, sin-burdened people the hope of healing, freedom, and a victorious life. He breaks the power of cancelled sin; He sets the prisoner free…! With trust in the Word of God and openness to the Spirit of God, Scriptural Holiness was more than a “buzzword” as untold multitudes experienced literal healing and freedom. Unfortunately, apart from a life of Scriptural Holiness, buzzwords and nice thoughts are about all we have to offer. Inclusiveness… Diversity… Tolerance… Healing… Deliverance… Revival—if we really want to see the Glory of God manifest, we must rediscover the Person and Power of Scriptural Holiness! • THOSE SEEKING HEALING, HOPE, AND RESTORATION can come with an expectation and assurance that they will experience the Presence of God in ways that can “break the heavy yoke,” “bind up the broken hearted,” and “set the captive free!” Prayer teams will be available, and the Holy Spirit is completely reliable! • CHILDREN AND YOUTH will enjoy refreshing times of worship, prayer, and teaching alongside their peers. Nothing changes a life like actually experiencing Jesus personally--which is exactly what we expect will happen! W Wes Hilliard es Hilliard is the lead pastor of Heritage Church, a United Methodist congregation, in Van Buren, Arkansas, population 22,000. He has been there for 14 years, minus two years for military deployments. In that time, the church has grown from around 260 to an average weekly worship attendance over 850 and has planted another congregation in the same community. Heritage has been honored as the United Methodist “Large Church of the Year” for Arkansas multiple times during Wes’ tenure. Wes has also been recognized as the Harry Denman Evangelist of the Year for Arkansas. Wes spent 28 years in the military, reaching the rank of colonel, before retiring this February as the Joint Senior Command Chaplain for the Arkansas Army and Air National Guard. He began his military career as a cadet, later as a field artillery officer and branch transferred to become a chaplain in 1995. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Allison, for 28 years. They have two grown daughters, Lindsay Staggs and her husband Josh of RaleighDurham, NC, and Libby, a sophomore Biblical languages major at Ouachita Baptist University. He has a passion for recapturing our authentic Methodist/United Brethren roots and reclaiming the Jewish roots of our faith. His deployment time in Iraq brought him face-to-face with Muslims and their beliefs - especially about the end times. This experience has given him a great love for Muslims. His knowledge has led him to be a sought-out advisor to military leaders on the radical Muslim mindset. Because of his experiences in successfully leading his congregation through pastoral/staff restoration, he has given presentations on this subject to the Arkansas United Methodist Lawyers Seminar and the Arkansas Conference Elders Gathering. He has experienced firsthand in Iraq and America that “Real Love Heals.” A Conference of Scriptural Holiness 104 Roberts Street, Livingston, TN 38570 I (931) 823-6445 I info@livingstonfirstchurch.com I www.livingstonfirstchurch.com SCHEDULE Chuck King orship leader, songwriter, and recording artist Chuck King has come full circle in a journey that has taken him from his beginnings in Oklahoma, to Jerusalem, around the world, and now, to the Arkansas River Valley. Originally from Oklahoma City, he studied music and drama at Oklahoma Baptist University, where he met his wife Louann. They moved to Israel in 1996, when Chuck joined the staff of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem as the music and artistic director. For over a decade, he was responsible for the music and stage production of the ICEJ’s Feast of Tabernacles Celebration, which is Israel’s largest annual tourism event, hosting thousands of Christians from around the world. Chuck has also served as a worship leader for King of Kings Assembly, one of Israel’s largest Christian congregations, as well as a guest artist and speaker for a number of international conferences, video productions, broadcasts, and worship events. He has served as a vocalist for several other well-known artists such as Paul Wilbur, Dennis Jernigan, and Tommy Walker, and has produced four of his own original albums. As a concert and recording artist, Chuck has performed on five continents and his original music is featured on a number of worship recordings produced in the USA, Brazil, Europe, and Israel. Chuck and Louann relocated to Fort Smith, Arkansas, in 2009, to serve as the Worship Arts Minister for Heritage Church. It was there that, in spite of his apparent “success” in ministry, Chuck experienced the depths of failure and brokenness. He hopes that by sharing his story of restoration, others will be encouraged that healing and wholeness is possible. Chuck and Louann have 3 grown children and are the proud grandparents of 2! In addition to his ministry at Heritage Church, Chuck is currently working as a lead actor and managing director for a biblically based stage musical that is being developed into a major motion picture.
