WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE EXALTED RULER
Dear Friends and Members,
Well, we can start relaxing temporarily, “ The Durham Fair is over. ” It
was a tremendous event and Mother Nature cooperated. The Fair
Association had an attendance record. Great job by Dan Miramant,
Bill Currlin and Team. We, the Officers, attended a “ Drug Awareness
Program ” at the Wallingford Lodge. This is a very important program sponsored by the Connecticut and National Elks Association.
On October 4th we were part of the 16th Annual Fire Safety EXPO
held at the South District Fire House. Even with the bad weather, the
attendance was fantastic ! Many civic organizations were present.
On Sunday, the 5th of October Middletown, Meriden, Rocky Hill and the Wallingford Lodges,
entertained over 20 kids, from 6 to 13, for the “ Soccer Shoot Competition ”.
On October 11th we celebrated our Annual Italian Night. This year the Elks honored Michael
Siena as the Italian / American Elk of the Year ! We had a great turnout ! The food was
excellent and the entertainment was very well done ! People danced all night and had a
good time !
On the 12th the Sunday Breakfast Team served 89 breakfasts. SPECIAL THANKS to John
Whalen and the Breakfast Team , and the Emblem Ladies for all their support and help.
Halloween is coming and the committee needs your financial help and support.
We’re expecting 1,000 kids and parents. Please donate candy or cash if you can.
If you have photos of special events, such as anniversaries, birthdays, travel - send them in
for publication in The Bulletin to : [email protected]
Remember “Elks Care / Elks Share ”.
