The Baton Rouge Chapter of the IIA maintained its Platinum status and provided a quality set of programs. The current group of officers and governors hope to continue the success of past years. The officers and governors you elected to lead during the 2013 – 2014 chapter year have been hard at work to plan the chapter year. We hope to bring you networking and learning opportunities that meet your needs. Make sure you check-out the events calendar included in each newsletter sent out this year for details on upcoming events. We will make every effort to give advanced notice for upcoming events. In addition to events occurring during this chapter year, the Baton Rouge and New Orleans Chapters are working together to submit a bid to the IIA to host a Regional Conference in 2015. As we continue our planning efforts, we will be looking for volunteers to assist with the conference. If you have interest in helping us put together the conference, please let me know! For those who have not had the opportunity to support the Junior Achievement mission, they coordinate a volunteer-delivered kindergarten – 12th grade academic outreach program to promote work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills. From my personal experience volunteering with Junior Achievement, I can tell you it is a rewarding experience to work with young children who are excited to learn. This newsletter contains more information about Junior Achievement and how to get involved. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me or any of the officers during the chapter year, if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas.
