Friday was definitely the craziest day of the week, if not the whole year, as far as
schedules go. The Niners
went all out this year for the
homecoming pep rally. The
rally began with routines perTHIS ISSUE

Later in the evening was the homecoming game against the Kankakee Valley
Kougars. The Niners won the game 34-6. Halftime featured the crowning of homecoming court. Derek Maldonado and Charitye Ford were crowned homecoming king
and queen.
The dance was Saturday night. The theme was “A Starry Night.” Senior Isabella Pradhan has attended the dance in past years and was on the homecoming court
this year.

ACTORS ARE SUAVE WITH IMPROV
In October, Andrean’s Thespian Society performed The 39 Steps in
St. Basil’s Theater. The play starred
Mark Judge as Richard Hannay.
One of the most remarkable
elements of the Thespian Society’s
performance was the improvisation.
This was especially true for Friday
night’s performance. “I’ve never been
in a single night where so much has
gone wrong,” Judge said, “but it was
still one of the best shows I’ve ever
done.”
What gave the Thespians the most anxiety was when a gun wouldn’t go
off. Luckily, Zack Scalzitti was able to help save the
show. He grabbed his extra one and gave it to Ogunde Snelling. As Scalzitti said, “Ogunde then walked
out on stage and did what I thought was some of the
best improvising I’ve ever seen.” Snelling’s improvisation fixed the problem and had the audience laughing hysterically.
The 39 Steps was a great success even if things
didn’t go as planned. According to Judge, “The heart
of acting comes from improv.”
AROUND THE DIOCESE...
Here’s what some of the grade schools around the diocese have been up to:
Bobby Cooley celebrates after winning a Wii
game. St. Mary’s school in Crown Point held a
fun fair on October 9. The fair had spectacles such
as human sized hamster balls, Ghost Busters, and
walk around Disney princesses.
St. Mary students dress up
for the photo booth at the fun
fair. In the gym across the
hall there were bouncehouses
for kids to play in.

Why I Chose Andrean...
Cristina Poole
Class of 2018
St. Paul, Valparaiso
Choosing to attend Andrean was the best choice I have ever made. Even
though the classes may be challenging, the teachers and staff want nothing
but the best from us. There I developed a deeper and closer relationship
with my friends, teachers, and most importantly God. All in all, Andrean
has taught me important lessons about friendships, learning, responsibility,
and faith that I will carry with me on my journey through life.

The decision of the high school you attend is one of the most important
decisions you will make in your life. What you learn in high school and
how you use that knowledge will decide your college, and eventually your
career. At Andrean, you will be given a fantastic education along with great
friend and experiences to go with it.
