We had a successful membership show with over 65 entries. Congratulations to all the ribbon winners. Our next big event will be the BAA juried show scheduled for the Schmidt Gallery in August. The prospectus for this show can be downloaded from our website at www.berksartalliance. com. Although entries will be made electronically, BAA will provide several avenues of assistance for those who find this a daunting task. The Nominating Committee has completed its recommendations for an entire slate of officers (including the new position of President-Elect) and the names are posted in this Palette. Elections are scheduled for the General Meeting on Tuesday, May 12th. Please plan on attending to cast your vote! Additional nominations from the membership at large can also be accepted in the interim, prior to the vote. Although the Steering Committee has accomplished much this past year, we are likely to call upon them for some additional recommendations, such as the clarification of the rights and privileges and duties of all members as well as creating a junior membership geared to high school and college students. Amanda Condict and Jay Reeser have agreed to be a part of the Publicity Committee, but several additional members are necessary to ensure success. Revamping of the BAA website is currently in progress. And lastly, kudos galore to the cadre of BAA members who have hosted private shows recently. Just to name a few, Jerry Holleran, Amy Shade, Elaine Soltis, Donna Unger, and Trudy Moore, as well as those with entries in the Art of Jazz show. I would encourage all eligible members to participate in the Senior Arts Festival scheduled for June at the Miller Center and of course, our own juried show in August. Best wishes to all for a happy Spring. ..................................................................................................................................... braindrops creative thoughts for creative minds “If we are to change our world view, images have to change.
