Plywood Sammy cutout
Two "show groomed" Sammy cutouts
The SCA Specialty Committee is excited to announce the first Decorate-A-Dog
competition! A plywood cutout of a “generic” Samoyed has been created for this
activity. It is approximately 16” x 16” x ½” in size.
To enter, purchase an "ungroomed" wooden dog cut-out from the 08 National's
Samoyed Store (www.samoyedstore.com) at the "Decorated Dog" merchandise
link. Decorate the cutout with your own special flair, then bring it to the National to
compete for Decorated Dog Best In Show. Buy an extra dog to decorate and keep
for yourself! Foreign substances are definitely allowed in your dogs' coat for this
competition!
You must use the official cutout of the dog to enter this competition! The wooden
Sammy entries will be on display at the 2008 National.
The entry that is selected Best of Breed will receive a beautiful prize. After the winner
has been announced, the decorated Sammies will be placed in a silent auction, with
the top entries going on to the Live Auction! At the close of the bidding for the silent
auction Sammies, the lucky winning bidders will pay for their purchases and the
Sammies will go to their new homes!
Sponsorship is available at $20 per dog. For questions, contact Karen McFarlane
at [email protected] or 816.628.6802. All decorated dogs should be received by
Specialty Chairperson by the start of the 2008 National Specialty. If you are not able
to attend the specialty, but still wish to enter the competition, please send your
entry to: Celinda Cheskawich, 183 Wieri Rd, Woodland, WA 98674-9211.
