EMERGING LEADERS
Join an elite group of freshmen, where you will gain valuable
leadership skills and participate in various community service projects
throughout the year. This group of elite freshmen are seen on campus
as exemplifying characteristics of leaders. This group will set these
freshmen up and give them the tools needed to take on future
leadership roles.

Northwood University believes in creating an active learning
environment that engages students to explore new ideas, perspectives,

Multi-purpose courts, four lane track, and fitness center. The mission
of Timberwolf Recreation is to provide recreation services, programs,
and facilities for the Northwood University community with emphasis on

SERVICE
Northwood University embraces leadership through service. Each
year NU students contribute thousands of hours to community service.
We offer several service clubs (Circle K, Golden Z, Student United
Way, Rotoract) and have a unique partnership with United Way of
Midland County to help connect individuals and Registered Student
Organizations (RSOs) with non-profits and service opportunities.

Alpha Chi Omega
Alpha Chi Omega is
a national women’s
fraternity, founded
in 1885 at DePauw
University in Green
Castle, Indiana. Members
strive to succeed by

American Advertising
Federation (AAF)
The American Advertising
Federation protects
and promotes the wellbeing of advertising.
This is accomplished
through a unique,
nationally coordinated
grassroots network of
advertisers, agencies,
media companies, local
advertising clubs and
college chapters.
Alpha Chi Rho
Also known as the Crows,
the men of Alpha Chi
Rho believe firmly in inner
strength of an individual.
Equally important however,
is the strength a man gets
from brotherhood. The
brotherhood of Alpha Chi
Rho insists on a high and
clear moral standard and
does not judge on race,
creed, or nationality, but
the intrinsic worth of a
person. Slogan: “Be Men”
American Marketing
Association (AMA)
The NUAMA is
Northwood’s collegiate
chapter of the American
Marketing Association
(AMA) and the professional
marketing organization
on campus. The AMA has
collegiate and professional
chapters throughout
the country. Members
participate in a number of
marketing and businessrelated events in the areas
of community service,
fundraising, internal/
external communications,
professional development,
membership and
chapter operations.

Alpha Gamma Delta is
an International Women’s
Fraternity whose mission
is “Inspire the woman...
Impact the world.” The
organization provides
collegiate women with
leadership and volunteer
opportunities.
Alpha Sigma Phi
Since its founding at Yale
in 1845, the organization
has been committed to
the awesome power for
individual and social good
that can be achieved when
men of good character
band together as brothers.
Its Purpose is “to better the
man, through the creation
and perpetuation of
brotherhood founded upon

Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of
Midland County is teaming
up with elementary schools
in an effort to help students
succeed. Teaming up with
youth strives to improve
the academic, social,
and relationship skills of
children by matching them,
one-to-one, with mentors
in a school setting. This
group will hold programs
where “Bigs” and “Littles”
are working together on
campus and also work
to raise awareness of the
organization.
Business Professionals of
America
Business Professionals
of America is a national
career and technical
student organization with a
mission of contributing to
the preparation of a worldclass workforce through the
advancement of leadership,
citizenship, academic and
technological skills.
Circle K International
Circle K is a globally
recognized service
organization with more
than 12,600 members in
17 nations. With projects
ranging from March of
Dimes to UNICEF’S
eliminate campaign, Circle
K is always helping the
community become a better
place to live.
College Panhellenic
Council
The College Panhellenic
Council is the governing
body of the three National
Panhellenic Conference
women’s fraternities. This
organization stands for good
scholarship, high standards
and serves the college
community. Officers and
delegates are selected from
each chapter and leadership
is rotated within the group.
These fraternity women
work in harmony and stand
for mutual respect.
Collegiate DECA
Collegiate DECA is an
organization that helps
students learn to deal with
real life business situations
at competitive events.
Doing so, it gives the
competitor a chance to
interact with the real world.

Delta Zeta Sorority
The purpose of this
sorority shall be to unite
its members in the bonds
of sincere and lasting
friendship, to stimulate one
another in the pursuit of
knowledge, to promote the
moral and social culture
of its members, and to
develop plans for guidance
and unity in action; objects
worthy of the highest aim
and purpose of associated
effort. The purpose of this
sorority shall be advanced
through the National
Convention, the National
Council, and the college
and alumnae chapters.
The Disney College
Program Alumni
Association
The Disney College
Program Alumni
Association is for students
who have already
participated in the Disney
College Program. It is a
group that can meet with
each other and also mentor
students who will be
participating in the program
in the future.
Emerging Leaders
This organization connects
highly motivated and
outgoing freshmen with one
another to begin building
relationships from day one
of Northwood’s Welcome
Weekend. Students
involved in this program
are part of a team that
organizes and runs largescale community service
events on- and off-campus
in addition to engaging
activities, gatherings,
and socials to connect
freshmen with one another
during their first year of
college.

Association (ESPMA)
This organization is a
professional business
organization that provides
events for members
and non-members, by
having the opportunity
to experience planning,
organizing, and running
various types of events on
campus.
Entrepreneurship Society
The Northwood University
Entrepreneurship Society
was created to bring
individuals together in
a network where their
entrepreneurial ideas and
concepts for enterprise
can be supported and
accelerated. With the help of
one another, the society will
foster the future leaders of a
free enterprise system.
Finance Association of
NU (FANU)
Members of the Financial
Association of Northwood
University discuss current
topics in the financial
world and help understand
material covered in financial
courses.
Fishing Club
The Northwood University
Fishing Club will participate
in the FLW College Fishing
Series. The FLW College
Fishing Series consists
of four qualifying bass
tournaments during the
summer and possibly a
regional and national bass
fishing tournament. The
club will also meet weekly to
discuss various techniques
and any ideas that club
members may have.
Golden Z Club
Recognized as the
collegiate level of Zonta
International, Golden Z
Club is a group dedicated
to service and career
development, specifically
for the advancement of
women. The club reaches
school service, community
service, and international
service. It’s annual event
is National Eating Disorder
Awareness Week. The
group participates in,
and hosts, workshops
to enhance professional
development. There are
over 70 chapters around
the world.
Honorary Accounting
Society of Northwood
University
HASNU is an organization
for accounting majors who
have a cumulative GPA of
3.0 or higher. HASNU aims
to create a community
among accounting
students, while preparing
students to enter the
accounting profession.
International Business
Association
The International
Business Association
is a professional
organization that focuses
on international business
through learning and social
events, campus-wide
participation in networking,
presentations, and
globalization.
Iota Phi Theta
Iota Phi Theta is a social
service organization
designed to encourage
brotherhood and good
citizenship with community.
The purpose stated
is “The development
and perpetuation of
scholarship, leadership,
citizenship, fidelity,
and brotherhood among
men.”
Kappa Sigma Fraternity
Founded at Northwood
University in 2010, has
grown to be more than
50 members. Focus is on
brotherhood above all as
well as the four pillars;
Leadership, Fellowship,
Scholarship and Service.
Each member embodies
this in their college career.
Our main philanthropy is
to help the Kappa Sigma
Military Heroes campaign
for returning veterans
from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Each member’s voice
is important for the
betterment of your college
career.
Drumline
We are Northwood students
with one common passion;
music, and we want to
share it! This society is for
anyone who loves playing
instruments, singing, and
music in general.

(NUHE)

provides students with real

their knowledge of the
hospitality industry.

Leadership and Success
Founded in 2001, the
National Society of
Leadership and Success
has more than 200
chapters at universities and
colleges around the world.
More than 90,000 members
are now making an impact
in their communities. The
organization builds leaders
who make a better world.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity
is an international
brotherhood consisting of
750 chapters throughout
the world. We aim to build
an effective force of men
dedicated to the Cardinal
Principles of manhood,
scholarship, perseverance
and uplift.
Phi Delta Theta
Phi Delta Theta was
founded on three core
principles: friendship,
sound learning and moral
rectitude. Not only do
members hold the most
awards for community
service but have also been
Greek Week champions
four out of five years.
Members take pride in their
awards and will continue to
strive to achieve more.
Rent the Runway Northwood University
Rent the Runway is the
premier online destination for
dress and accessory rentals.
Rent the Runway has a
revolving roster of more than
150 top designers, 25,000 of
the season’s hottest dresses,
and 4000 accessories. A
team of Runway Reps work
together to create and
execute a comprehensive
strategic marketing plan
to drive Rent the Runway
membership, customer
acquisition and engagement
on campus. Runway Reps
aim to promote Rent the
Runway in the style of their
school, while developing
entrepreneurial, leadership
and business management
skills in marketing and
fashion.
ReNU
The vision of The Church
Reloaded is to inspire faith
and friendships on campus
and in the community,
through these key activities:
worship, prayer, fellowship,
discipleship, and witness.
Order of Omega
The Order of Omega is an
honorary Greek society which
emphasizes community
service and outstanding
academics.

Rotoract
Rotoract is the name of
the college Rotary Club
organization. Rotary
International consists
of 1.2 million members
worldwide. It is made up of
business professionals who
believe in “service above
self” and work diligently
to help the poor and
disadvantage throughout
the world. Local Rotary
Clubs consist of community
leaders. NU’s Rotoract
club works in conjunction
with the Morning and Noon
Rotary clubs of Midland.
S.A.A.C. (Student Athlete
Advisory Committee)
Members of the Student
Athlete Advisory Committee
(S.A.A.C.) are studentathletes who volunteer
within the community.
Members also address any
issue on or off the court
that members or GLIAC
officers see fit.
Shootin’ Archery Club
Members shoot archery
every week at a live animal
video simulation. Members
with little experience are
welcome and encouraged
to join.
St. Jude’s Up Til Dawn
St. Jude’s Up Til Dawn is a
student-led program that
raises awareness and funds
for St. Jude’s Children’s
Research Hospital.
Students nationwide have
joined together to help the
life saving treatment and
research performed at
St. Jude’s.
Student-Alumni Network
The mission of the StudentAlumni Network is to create
interaction between the
student bodies. The SAN
is building student-alumni
connections through
community service and
networking.

Student United Way
Student United Way is
a partnership between
Northwood University and
United Way of Midland
County. This campusbased community change
organization addresses
critical issues around
education, health and selfsufficiency. Student United
Way offers Northwood
students a meaningful way
to engage in United Way’s
mission, providing real
opportunities for people
to give, advocate and
volunteer to help others.
This group is guided by
students in the Executive
Board and United Way,
with an emphasis on
leading through service.
All volunteer and service
activities compliment
the Northwood EXCEL
program.
Tau Kappa Epsilon
Tau Kappa Epsilon is a
Greek organization that
strives to inspire college
men to become great.
Based on the principles of
love, charity, and esteem,
TKE strives to improve its
members, while having a
lasting positive impact on
the community.
The Automotive Group (TAG)
The Automotive Group
(TAG) is an organization
for automotive marketing
and aftermarket majors to
promote the knowledge of
current events affecting the
automotive industry through
discussion-style meetings,
internal and external
industry speakers, and
trips to automotive related
facilities.
TOMS at Northwood
University
TOMS Campus Club at
Northwood University is
a group of like-minded
individuals who are
passionate, excited
students who connect
and work together to raise
awareness and share the
TOMS story and the One
for One movement at our
school by hosing events
and activities. By becoming
an active TOMS Campus
Club Member, you’ll
learn valuable skills and
experience in marketing,
event planning, promotions,
viral marketing, networking,
and leadership.
Transfer Club
Organization to introduce
newly transferred students
to Northwood student life
and activities. Transfer club
will encourage students
to be active members of
Northwood community. We
strive to provide a seamless
transition for transfer
students.
Victorious Student
Outreach
Victorious Student
Outreach is a Bible study
group that meets once
a week. Members also
attend Victorious Believers
Ministries C.O.I.G.C. every
Sunday @ 11 a.m. The
church vans pick up and
return members.
