work together to form a strong unit. Their music is danceable, their show totally entertaining. Every
performance elicits rave reviews, making HOT LUNCH the most-requested and most- watched band in the
Colorado-Rocky Mountain area!
June 25: Hazel Miller Denver’s Legendary Songstress Hazel Miller is not just a great singer; “she is a force of
nature” writes the Rocky Mountain News. Her voice has been called “stunning, moving and powerful.”
Whether she is singing blues, jazz, pop, or gospel, her voice charges the songs with a primal dose of genuine
soul!
July 2: Forever in Blue Jeans Neil Diamond Tribute Diamonds really are forever - at least for fans of Neil
Diamond. "Forever In Blue Jeans" was created with the intent to give listeners the feeling that they're at a real
Neil Diamond show! Forever In Blue Jeans creates for the audience an authentic Neil Diamond experience
that's sure to please. Playing all the hits, this tribute truly delivers!
July 9: That Eighties Band Eighties Pop & New Wave Denver’s own That Eighties Band is one of the most

has to offer. The end result is a show any ‘80s fan is sure to love!

most popular bands on the Denver music scene, drawing enthusiastic crowds and amassing a loyal following.
This band provides its audiences with music that moves the body and soul. With a repertoire of songs that spans
five decades of funk, soul, and R&B – they play songs that are infrequently played by other acts yet are
instantly recognizable and one hundred percent danceable!
July 23: Buckstein Rockin’ Country Music "I don't like country music... but I like you guys." Buckstein gets
that a lot. They play country music from Classic Merle right up to whatever's poppin' on the Top 40 pop charts and everything in between. You haven't been to a Buckstein show if you haven't seen a dude in a cowboy hat
rock "Bust a Move" by Young MC. Maybe that's why some people don't like country music and yet... they like
Buckstein.

http://southpearlstreet.com/events/
What happens when you mix a warm summer afternoon, ice-cold draft beer, and some fun, funky music? You
get the South Pearl Street Music Festivals. Inaugurated in 2007, the brainchild of a South Pearl Street
merchant, the first Blues & Brews debuted on August 11th on the 1200 block of South Pearl Street.
The street was closed and featured a stage at the northern end of the block and farmers market vendors, craft
beer brewers, and some local blues bands rocked into the night. Hoping to attract 1,000 people and not to lose
too much money, the event was a huge success with more than 5,000 people on the street and–like any great
party–a last minute beer run! The first year’s success encouraged the merchants to add a second event,
dubbed BrewGrass.

June 13th: MarchFourth!
MarchFourth Marching Band: (M4 to its fans) is a kaleidoscope of musical and visual energy that inspires
dancing in an atmosphere of celebration.
Aside from their marching band themed costumes, as well as the 5-piece percussion corps and 6-part brass
section, M4 is far from a “marching band” in any traditional sense (though this group of 15-20 has been known
to parade down Main Street before taking the stage). M4 is anchored by funky electric bass and has been
evolving into a more guitar- and vocal-driven musical experience.
The show will take you on a journey from the swamps of Louisiana to the gypsy camps of Eastern Europe to
the African jungle by way of Brazil, echoing the deepest grooves of American funk, rock, and jazz then boiling it
all together in cinematic fashion with high-stepping stilt-acrobatics and dazzling dancers.
August 1st: Freddy Jones Band
Freddy Jones Band: Labeled as the “Darlings of the Triple A Radio,” Freddy Jones Band has a storied history
in the format. With two number one hits and several top tens, the Chicago roots band has strummed its way to
the forefront of the national music scene. Staying true to the breezy melodic lyrics and echo acoustic guitar
they’ve come to be known for, the band will be releasing their new album in June of 2015.
Street Food Soiree featuring the Street Food Phenoms
Food Trucks will be onsite for a food truck taste off, come and pick your favorite truck through the People’s
Choice award and try some delicious treats provided by each food truck. Judging begins at 6 pm, the first
place winner will be announced at 7 pm, before the band begins, and People’s Choice will be announced
during the band’s break around 7:55 pm. First place winner will walk away with a cash prize.
Trucks Include: Biker Jim’s Gourmet Hot Dogs, Capt’n Crabby, Coaches Scoop, The Dessert Stand, Verde,
Hey PB&J, N.Z.’s Smokin’ Guns, Pink Tank, Street Eats 5280 and Orange Crunch.

Lone Tree Kidsfest June 7- 11am to 2pm
http://cityoflonetree.com/index.aspx?NID=1062
Lone Tree Arts Center- 10075 Commons St.
June 7th brings, fun, fun, fun, to kick off your summer! Kidsfest began last year and has grown into the
must-attend party of the summer for pre-K and elementary schoolchildren. Most of the event will take
place outside (weather permitting). Arts, science, and entertainment are all represented with different
areas to discover. Start with the Jeff and Paige Band on stage, or begin by crawling through the Cave
of Confusion. Children can learn to plant herbs, watch hawks soar through the air, and get in touch with
their prehistoric side in Science Corner, too! A big highlight of the event is the Strider Cup Race. 2-3
year olds and 4-5 year olds have their chance to see how fast they can move on wheels in this
adorable event. Come early to participate; registration for the race begins at 11:00 am.
NEW THIS YEAR: Sensory Friendly comes to Kidsfest - Sensory Friendly Family Tree presents an
SF Relaxed Hour from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Kids and adults with special needs are invited to come
and take a look at the vendors an hour before the event and then come inside the Lone Tree Arts
Center Event Hall and watch Sven the Juggler perform at 11:00 am.
Jeff and Paige Band
Bring science and nature to life through kid-delighting music and stories. Their exciting fun-filled
concerts and CDs are filled with love of the outdoors and ecology, bringing concepts like insect
anatomy, energy conservation and plate tectonics to the whole family.
If this sounds lofty for the kiddie set, then think again. Each song is instructive, but never preachy. And
the messages are delivered in a playful manner with memorable musical hooks that captivate children
and adults alike. Through their live shows and four different albums Jeff and Paige have reached
thousands of children with their joyful spirit of play and passion for ecological awareness.
Cave of Confusion
The Cave of confusion is a 3-D maze built inside of a 20′ trailer that will blow the mind of anyone who
dares to give it a try. From beginning to end the cave winds up, down and all around in a twisting
turning seemingly endless corridor.

June 27-28- Estes Park Scandinavian Midsummer Dance Festival
www.estesmidsummer.com
Performance Park Amphitheater 417 West Elkhorn Ave, Estes Park
Scandinavians celebrate the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, with a festival of light, flowers, food
and music. The summer solstice celebration has its roots in pre-Christian practices and is a day when the
spirits of nature join the human community to rejoice in the long days of summer. Midsummer was originally a
fertility festival with many customs and rituals associated with nature and with the hope for good harvest in
autumn. People gather to sing and dance around the festive maypole, women wear flower wreaths on their
heads, and some people dress in traditional folk costume. It is a time to escape to the country to spend a
relaxing time in nature - a time to connect with friends and family and exuberantly honor the joys of life.

heritage. In the early days of the mining industry, miners would take burros, which is the Spanish word for donkey,
through the mountains of Colorado in their search for gold. Because the burros were carrying supplies, the
miners could not ride the animal and so they would walk, leading the donkey. The burro races commemorate
these men and their burros.
Format:
In a typical burro race, a runner and a burro race complete a prescribed course together, with the runner leading
the burro on a rope. Riding the burro is not allowed. In fact, the human may carry the burro, but the burro may
not carry the human. The burro must be on a lead rope, which is limited to 15 feet. Runners must maintain control
of their animals at all times. Burros must also carry a pack saddle with 33 pounds of traditional mining gear,
including a pick, gold pan, and a shovel. Runners may also include other gear in their saddles, such as
windbreakers, water, food, etc, but the surplus gear cannot be counted in the 33 pounds. Cruelty to the burro is
prohibited and racing officials have the right to hold any burro for 30 minutes following the race for an inspection
by a veterinarian.
Lore:
There are two legends concerning the beginning of these burro races. The first states that the races began when
two miners found gold and had to race back to the claims office. Because they could not ride the burros the
miners were forced to run, leading the burros. The second legend is somewhat vague but concerns a few
drunken miners at a bar in Leadville, Colorado.

Spring Festival
Our Spring Festival is designed for groups of 10 or more, and is designed to teach school children about how
plants are started at our farm. We take a short tour through the green houses and we also let each child plant
a seed and transplant a flower. They then take the plants home or back to the school and watch them in the
various stages of growth. Depending on the weather and the time of your visit, we may also take a ride out to
our fields and show the student's how we plant here at the farm. If there is early produce growing, we may
also allow each child to pick a small amount of vegetables to take home. Please keep in mind that the weather
plays a big part in what is ready and when.
The cost per student is $5.00 per student. Chaperons, teachers and bus drivers are free.
Haunted Adventure!
Oct 10th - Oct 31 2013 (All day) dark until 10:00pm nightly
There has been some mysterious activity on the farm recently and we have discovered three silver pod-like
discs that appeared on our property last night. We are unsure of what these are but they appear to be some
type of alien craft. We are requesting that a few brave souls to come to the farm and help us discover what
these ships are and what may be inside them. We have heard sounds from within. Each night at dark we will
take a small group of brave-hearted folks to the fields and check out the ships. Every night we will wait until
darkness can cover our approach to the crafts in case there is a hostile entity within. It costs only $10.00 per
person and only $5.00 per person if you paid to harvest and decide to stay with us for the evening’s activities.
For reservations or questions, please call 970-785-6133 or send an email [email protected]. And
remember, 1/2 of the proceeds are going to this years Colorado flood victims. For reservations or questions,
please call 970-785-6133 or send an email to [email protected]. BE WARNED! This is not for the
faint of heart!

Miller Farms (continued)
Fall Harvest Festival
Labor Day - Mid Nov (All day) 9 am -6 pm daily
Our fall festival gives everyone the opportunity to not only explore the farm, but to also harvest their own
vegetables! During the fall harvest, everyone takes a tractor ride to our fields with stops along the way to pick
their own vegetables. They’ll get the fun and educational experience of putting their hands in the dirt, and the
rewarding benefit of picking fresh produce to take home to their families. All of our activities and harvesting are
included in the cost of admission. Begin your day with a visit to our petting zoo, followed by navigating your
way through our corn maze. Play in the giant jumping balloon, climb on the fire truck, slide down the giant hill,
and then the fun really begins! Enjoy your lunch in our picnic area, where we've got dozens of covered tables
set up for your convenience. We have trash barrels and washing stations throughout, as well as several
portable restrooms. Take our hayride through 180 acres of fields where you can pick your own vegetables—
potatoes, carrots, onions, beets, Indian corn, squash, peppers, and the list goes on! You may even get your
very own pumpkin to take with you. If you aren’t up to picking your own, we always have plenty of produce on
hand in the roadside stand. We also have our chile roaster going for a wonderful treat! We do offer snacks,
drinks and other delicious treats.

On a picture perfect Sunday morning in September, 2001, Charlotte Elich and Carrie Vadas of 5 Green Boxes
launched the first South Pearl Street Farmers Market. Wanting to create an event that would bring neighbors to
the street regularly, the first market was a single day event with just ten vendors.
The day was a rousing success, and today– thirteen seasons later–the market has grown to 27 weeks, with
more than sixty vendors and thousands of shoppers and aficionados. Managed by our friends at HobNob
Events for the past eight years, the market has seen many vendors. We would like to specially acknowledge
Ela Family Farms, known far and wide for their mouth-watering peaches and apples from the Western Slope,
and Styria Bakery, legendary for their fresh baked bread, both of whom have been with us since that very first
day in 2001.
