Beach Babies infant/parent program takes your child through progressive levels of water
adjustment. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend aqua-lity time with your child while

Beach Preschool • Ages: 3-5
Children enjoy swimming using age-appropriate techniques and games geared toward
developing skills while emphasizing water safety. Developed for children in preschool
through kindergarten. Class size is generally 2-4 students per instructor. (ac)
LEVEL 1 participants are afraid of the water,
can’t swim and won’t get their face wet.
LEVEL 4 participants can swim above or
under water and take occasional breaths.
Centennial Beach Main Entrance
LEVEL 2 participants will get their face wet,
jump in and enjoy the water.
LEVEL 3 participants can float on front and
back, jump in and paddle to the surface and
are not afraid of the water.

Centennial Beach Swim Lessons • 5
SWIM LESSONS
Beach • Ages: 6-14
This program is designed to improve each child’s swimming skills at his or her own pace.
Swimmers are placed by skill level and each participant learns water safety skills appropriate to their level. Class size is generally 3-5 students per instructor unless otherwise noted.

LEVEL 1 provides beginning swimmers with
a basic familiarity with the water. Among
other skills, students learn to put their
faces in the water, float and flutter kick.
More importantly, they learn to trust their
instructors and realize that swimming is
fun! Class size is generally 2-4 students
per instructor.
LEVEL 2 builds upon the skills learned in
Level 1. Students learn to add arms to their
flutter kick to create a solid foundation in
freestyle and backstroke.
LEVEL 3 is taught in the deeper water. This
level aims to equip students with deep-water safety survival skills. Students learn to
tread water in an efficient manner, jump
in and recover to the surface and explore
swimming in deeper water guided by the
instructor.

LEVEL 4 students work to refine their freestyle and backstroke; they work on shoulder rotation and adding an eight beat kick
and bilateral breathing.
LEVEL 5 students learn sidestroke and
elementary backstroke as a building block
to learning butterfly and breast stroke. In
addition to their application in future levels,
these strokes are integral to water safety/
survival skills.
LEVEL 6 challenges students to master
butterfly and breaststroke.
LEVEL 7 prepares students for swim team
by teaching them racing starts and turns.

Swim Lessons: Beach

Aquatic Fitness •
Ages: 16 and up
Adult swim instruction is designed to
improve skills and comfort in the water. All
adults ages 15 and up who want to learn
and improve their swimming skills are

Tone muscles and increase cardiovascular
fitness through various exercises while
using the natural resistance and buoyancy
of water. Swimming ability is not required.

Springboard Diving •
Ages: 8 and up
By training on both the three-meter and
one-meter boards, divers learn the fundamentals of springboard diving. Beginning
and intermediate divers are welcome.
Divers must be able to swim 50 meters of

Beachside Yoga •
Ages: 16 and up
Enjoy a relaxing and energizing yoga practice complete with the beautiful view of
Centennial Beach. Bring a yoga mat and
a beach towel and find joy as you spend
time in the sand and grass overlooking the
water. Program is led by experienced yoga
instructor Sarah Weyenburg. Leave feeling
refreshed, focused, peaceful, grateful and
strong. No previous yoga experience is
required, only an open and positive attitude.
After the Sunday class, you are welcome to
stay and enjoy a Centennial Beach favorite - Adult Float (no Adult Float on June 12).
For those busy summer participants who
are not able to attend all ten classes, a sixclass punch card is now available. Choose
the punch card option below and come to
a total of six classes. Punch cards will be

unique opportunity to train in a realistic
open water environment. Experienced
coaches design workouts for the beginner triathlete to prepare for a sprint or full
triathlon. The athlete will become more

Due to our recent conversion to new registration software, all new and returning members
are required to receive a photo identification card. Returning members can renew their
memberships online however, a new photo must be taken prior to your first visit to the
Beach. To avoid the last-minute rush once the warm weather hits, please visit one of our

DEEP WATER AND DIVING BOARDS
As safety of our patrons is our number one priority, we do have strict swimming requirements for our participants who wish to swim in the deep end and use the diving boards.
Any swimmer who has not graduated from 8th grade will be required to pass the Deep
Water Swim Test before they will be allowed in the deep end or use the diving boards.
Swimmers are required to successfully swim a total distance of 100 meters (two lengths
of the lap lanes) using the front crawl stroke with proper side to side breathing. Swimmers
must take the swim test once each season.
The Deep Water Swim Test is offered at 12:50 p.m., 2:50 p.m. and 5:50 p.m. daily in the lap
lanes. Due to staffing requirements, we are able to test patrons daily during these three
times only.
Once the swimmer has successfully passed the test during the current season, they will
be issued a wristband at the Beach each time they visit. The wristband must be worn at all
times during their visit so they can be identified as a swimmer who can use the deep end.
Centennial Beach staff reserves the right to remove any swimmer, regardless of age, from
the deep end if he or she appears to be tired or struggling while swimming.
SUPERVISION
Children age 7 and younger must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian (age 16+)
during their visit to Centennial Beach.
SPECIAL NEEDS NIGHTS
Families with individuals who have special needs are invited to enjoy a quiet, relaxing
evening after regular operating hours of Centennial Beach. The shallow end and slide will
be open Sundays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on June 5 and 26, July 17 and 31. No registration
is required. Cost is $3.00/person at the door or you may apply your membership toward
entry.
WEEKEND ADULT FLOAT
Float your cares away during this most relaxing time of day! On Saturday and Sunday
mornings, from 9:00 a.m.-10:55 a.m., adults age 18 and older can swim, sun or paddle
around the Beach on an inner tube. No morning float June 12. No one under age 18 will be
permitted inside the Beach until 11:00 a.m. Adult Float begins June 4. Cost is $8(R)/$12(N)
or apply your season membership toward entry.
PERSONAL FLOATATION DEVICES
For the safety of our patrons, only U. S. Coast Guard-approved floatation devices are permitted to be used at Centennial Beach. Water wings, tubes or inflatables are not allowed
in the water. The Beach has a limited number of life jackets available for use while at
Centennial Beach.
