Bushtits by Hannah If you have ever seen a funny little bird and wondered what it is? Its a bushtit. Bushtits are a small gray bird with a brownish forehead and a tiny 4in black bill. The females have white or yellow eyes. And The males sometimes have dark faces or bandito masks. Males and babies have dark eyes. Bushtits live in mixed forest and in mountains. They also like to live in city parks, woodlands, shrubby areas, and canyons. HAWKS ARE PREDATORS TO BUSHTITS CAW! CAW! CROWS TEAR APART BUSHTIT NESTS People cause threats to bushtits too. When people cut down bushes and trees by clear cutting bushtits have to find a new place to live. but people can help bushtits too by planting trees, bushes, and shrubs. This way bushtits can have a place to live and make a nest in. Flocks of birds may have 60 or more bushtits along with individual other birds. zrrr! zeeet! tink! Bushtits calls can be lots of sounds including zrrr!,zeeet!,and tink! click to hear bushtit calls On cold nights bushtits gather together to stay warm. yum tasty spider! bushtits eat insects, spiders, seeds, and some berries.
