Klerksdorp – Two boys (both 14
years old) appeared in the Klerksdorp Magistrates’Court on Friday,
5 June 2015, on charges of murder after a 15-year-old street child
was stabbed to death in the city on
Tuesday, 2 June 2015.
The two suspects were arrested
in Kanana on Thursday, 4 June, at
about 10:00. They are detained in
Bosassa.
According to Sgt Kelebogile
Moleko, police spokesperson, the
victim, known only as Thabang
(15), was preparing porridge for
himself and four other boys, also
street children -aged between 13
and 19 years, in an open area near

tha Prinsloo Street. It is alleged
that one of the suspects demanded
food and an argument ensued between the boys.
One of the boys gave the suspect
a knife and he stabbed Thabang
in the neck. The victim fell down,
bleeding heavily, and the two susSHFWVÀHGWKHVFHQH
One of the other boys ran to the
nearby Klerksdorp Hospital to ask
medical assistance for Thabang.

30 May 2015, in which a man died.
The deceased (50) was accompanied by his wife
(42) and son (13) who were injured when the helicopter they were travelling in crashed at about
07:30.
Maj. Pelonomi Makau, police spokesperson, said
it is alleged that the man – who was piloting the
helicopter – and his family were from the Serapa
Safari in Tosca outside Vryburg.
At this stage, the cause of the accident is unknown and is being investigated.
