SENIOR REGENTS MESSAGE:
By: Joyce Finnegan
Now let's get going for August!
Wow! What a great July we are having.
We have had a couple of great taco nights. Thanks go out to Kim Spire,
Marcia Howard and Bertha Holquin for the great work they have done.
They took the ball and ran with it with great results. Even greater, they
have volunteered to continue doing the WOTM taco nights.
Our WOTM Leadership training on July 11th went very well. I need to
thank Marcia, Brenda Aldridge, Jean Butler, Laurie Chaidez, Teri
Winstead and Melissa Mitchell for coordinating the room set up,
shopping, breakfast and lunch, registration and everything else that
needed to be accomplished to make the training successful.
Our BBQ Rib dinner and raffle held 7/18/15 a resounding success! We
served a total of 56 dinners. I want to thank Dennis O'Flaherty, Marcia
Finley, Chris O'Flaherty, Mark Woycheshin and Saundra Green for the
great food and help in the kitchen. The meal was DELICIOUS! Just a
heads up, Dennis is working with us to do a fish fry in October. If you
missed this dinner, you'll also love the fish fry. Thank yous also go out
to Laurie Chaidez, Brenda Aldridge, Helen Smith and Moose on the
Loose (Jim and Gary) for donating items for the raffles. In addition a
big thank you to Moose on the Loose for our entertainment who
volunteered their time to provide a fun time for everyone who attended.
GOVERNORS MESSAGE:
By: Steve Coby, Governor
Lastly, I want to thank all of you for your support and prayers for my
son, Kevin. It has been a very long and difficult month with his
hospitalization and surgeries. However he is finally at home and while
not quite back to his usual self, he is doing well.
The Burn Your Own Steak dinners have been a resounding success!
For just $10 you get a 10 ounce ribeye steak with all the best trimmings
and if you don't want to bar-b-que your own, we have folks on hand to
do the cooking too.
All I can say is thank you to my board and my friends for keeping the
WOTM going in my absence. We could not have accomplished all of
the above events without your hard work and support. Love to all of
you.
Both the Sunday pool league and Saturday dart league have begun
again.
We have started the summer off with many fun events. The 4th of July
party was a great success! Lots of food, bounce house for the kids and
fireworks at dark. Thank you to Randy Wachenfeld for putting this on
for us!
Our Thursdays night tacos are picking up in attendance! We now have
dart tournaments on Thursday night too. Come on down and join us!

ILLNESS REPORT:
Please report any member illness or distress to Jr.
Regent Laurie Chaidez, Prelate Randy Wachenfeld
or to Kim Spire for inclusion in the bulletin.
Al Morey had knee surgery early in July. Get well
soon, Al - we want to see you back dancing!
Sam Carruth had successful open heart surgery in July and is home
now. Nyla is very glad to have him home and so are we!
Terry Norman has been in and out of the hospital over the last few
weeks with an infection, dehydration and has had tests run for any other
issues. Hang in there, Terry and get better soon! You may have moved
to Florida, but your friends here still love and miss you!!
Kimmee Hastie had a stroke resulting in successful brain surgery to
remove a mass. Rumor has it the doctors were able to remove the bad
and leave all the good! Whew!
Mellisa Mitchell was hospitalized with extremely high blood pressure.
She has been working extra at her job as well as all the work she puts in
for our Chapter. Don't let the stress rule, Mellisa - we love and need
you!
Tom Davis has not been doing well lately and Marilyn is lonely without
him by her side at the Lodge. Take care of you, Tom! We miss you
too!!
Christie Helmers was diagnosed with lung cancer. She's got a battle
ahead of her, but this is one strong woman! We're here for you,
Christie!
Lynda Talavera's Uncle Sal was recently diagnosed with cancer.
Joyce Finnegan spent a couple of weeks at the hospital in Lodi with her
son, Kevin. Thankfully, he's home now and doing much better.
Laurie and Anselmo Chaidez' son, granddaughter and great
granddaughter were hospitalized briefly due to a car accident where they
were parked and exiting their car when they were hit by another car!
Other than minor injuries, they are all OK and home now.
Casey Salva's dad had his second cancer surgery and is expected to
make a full recovery.
Please join us in sending condolences to the family of Jeanette Duff
who passed away late June.
Please keep these members and their families in your thoughts and
prayers.
BLOOD BANK MESSAGE:
By: Jim Smith
Thank you to all members who have donated to the most wonderful lifesaving account - the Moose Blood Bank account. Just one pint of
blood can save a life - it could be you or one of your loved ones.
Remember, any child can donate at the age of 16 if they weigh at least
100 lbs. and the parent or guardian gives consent. FYI, the current price
for a pint of blood is approximately $2,000! If you are ever in need of
blood, just give our donor number to your physician and you will not be
billed. The South Sac 255 account number is 3822 and the District 4
account number is 7170.
If you have any problems, feel free to contact me at 916-389-1103, day
or night - I will be happy to help.
