FROM THE DESK OF ADMINISTRATOR, BOB LAUX
For those who attended our 28th Lodge Anniversary last month, I commend you. For those who
didn’t, you missed out! We had a fantastic dinner and special gifts to celebrate our Anniversary.
Not to mention the fun, fellowship and entertainment that we enjoyed.
Moving into March brings one of our favorite celebrations and dinners. On March 17th, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. We will be serving a well prepared dinner of corned beef, cabbage, carrots, etc., along with good old Irish music. Sign up so we know you are coming. We do not want to
run out of food.
The Pool Tournament that we hosted, was a great success again this year. Thanks to Chairman,
Kevin Hyland, and his Committee, Moose Legionnaires, Lodge Brothers and Chapter helpers, it was
well put together. Everyone raved about how nice our Family Center looks and the friendly members we have. They were all treated with nothing to spare, and they can’t wait to return again
soon.
I want to welcome all of our new members and hope you come down to the Family Center for
some good food, fellowship and activities. We will be planning, in the near future, a class enrollment that you will be invited to. This will present to you a good view of what the Moose is all about
and why you joined the greatest Family Fraternity there is.
As always, I want to thank all of our volunteers who help keep our daily operations running
smoothly and keep our home neat and clean.
Have a wonderful March as we get closer to Spring and Summer.
GOVERNOR’S REPORT ~ Mark Hutton
What a GREAT month February has been! It started out with the Anniversary Party of the LOOM,
28 years, on February 1st. We had a great dinner and a lot of fun. When we got the new TV
mounted just in time for the Super Bowl Party. The game was not good, but the food and party was
good. We had the Chocolate & Silent Auction that was run superbly, lots of goodies and great donated items to bid on. You ladies really know how to put on an event! Our Family Center hosted the
“Have a Heart Campaign” on February 11th at Marketplace Mall. We raised $467.57 that night for
the Ronald McDonald’s House in Rochester. Thank you very much.
Our grand finale, the New York State Moose Pool Tournament. We put 10 pool tables upstairs.
The place was buzzing with over 100 players in the Tournament. Lots of friends with the players,
our Moose was packed up and downstairs. What a great weekend. I am so proud of our Family
Center at how hard we work and pull together to make a huge event like this one work. The list of
names is very long that I need to thank for a great job, so I won’t try to list them all now. I must send
a special THANK YOU to KEVIN HYLAND, as he put his heart and soul into this event and it went off
very well.
Now, I’m looking forward to Spring. Don’t forget it is Nomination time for Moose Officers. Letters of Intent are behind the bar for your convenience. See you at the Moose, Mark
FUTURE EVENT…
We will be having a Craft & Bake Sale on July 12th, in the Pavilion. Dust off your creativity
and start making crafts for the WOTM to sell. All craft items are donated. We will be hosting this with Lifetime Assistance, who are donating their crafts as well. All proceeds to
benefit the Convention Fund. More details to follow...Linda Wilkinson

Hello Co-workers! We are now into the month of March. Please check your calendar for
the many social events coming. March is also about the business of running our Family Center, and that means “Elections of the Board of Officers”. March is the month of elections. I
chaired the WOTM’s 3 Nominating Committee meetings and the Slate of Officers has been determined. I will announce who will be running for all Board positions at our March 6th Activity
meeting. The WOTM Elections will be held on Thursday, March 20th, from 6pm-7pm, before
our 2nd March meeting. It is important that all WOTM Co-workers come to vote for their choice
for the Board of Officers that are running for the upcoming 2014-2015 Moose Year.
Thanks to our Chairman, Gerry Amann, for having the Euchre Tournament on January 25th.
You did a super job. You did get a lot of prizes for your event. Everyone who played that night
left with a prize. Everyone got pizza and other great snacks throughout the evening. Fun was
had by all. Again, great job Gerry!
Chocolate, Chocolate, Bids, Bids, was an adventurous night of the Chocolate Auction.
Wow! The spaghetti dinner started us out for this event. Thank you Chairman, Myndie Board
and her crew, Kandi, Donna, Katie, June, Heather, and Kathy. They served us a green salad
and huge plate of spaghetti and meatballs. It was delicious. Thank you ladies for all you did.
Boy, did I put on another ten pounds, even before the Auctions got started. Next, Chairman’s
Sue Speta and Sherry Stevens offered us this huge array of chocolate desserts made by coworkers. A gorgeous Triple Raspberry Truffle cake was donated by Corby’s and more than 50
Silent Auction donations to bid on throughout the night. Thank you Tweet, our Auctioneer, for
getting the highest bids for all the cakes and cookies, etc. To add to the sweetness of the evening, there was Karaoke by Cody. You ladies put this event together so well to make it such a
marvelous time. Awesome job all Chairman who helped out! Thank you everyone who bid on
items at the Auction, and also for the people who made the donations. You made this event
soar!
Co-workers, remember about the “Go the Distance” campaign. If you sign up two new
members, your next year’s dues are FREE. So, let’s spread the word about what a great
Chapter & Lodge we have. Let’s get our new co-workers to come in and see the changes we
have done so far at our Family Center. More changes are in the works.
Back again is our Ladies Luncheon on March 15th, 2014. There will be a Jewelry Presentation and a 31 Presentation. Bring along a new member who signs up and their lunch is only
$2.50!
We will be placing a box in the Social Quarters for your candy donations for our Annual
Kid’s Easter Egg Hunt. So, please help us out by donating any kind of candy.
We appreciate your dedication to the organization and coming into the
Family Center. We like seeing you. If you have any ideas that you would
be interested in doing, please let me know. My phone number is 585-2810531.
To everyone, a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day.
Your Senior Regent, Susan Hyland

We will again be volunteering at the Red Wings Baseball games this Summer with the Concessions. We receive a percentage of the profits and this has been a
lucrative fundraiser in the past several years for our
organization. This year the WOTM will be only volunteering at the Pop-N-Hots Concession Stand. We will
need 8 people to volunteer their time for each event.
You will be given a polo shirt too and a visor to wear for
this event. The usual time to “start” is 5:30pm and the
stand ends usually by 9:30pm (some days sooner). You
will be given a small “stipend” to use for your dinner
and reimbursement for your parking.
