Chelsea Physic Garden and The Chelsea Flower Show
Chelsea Flower Show celebrated its Centenary in 2013 and 2014
promises to be another spectacular show. We include a full day’s
visit to this most prestigious and spectacular event in the gardening

calendar
which takes place in the grounds of the Royal Hospital
Chelsea. We also include visits to Hampton Court, Kew Gardens,
RHS Wisley and a garden-expert guided tour of London to include
the Chelsea Physic Garden

London
As well as being a seat of government from Roman times, as the centre of a world empire, London also attracted
explorers and horticulturalists who gathered plants from the far-flung reaches of the globe. London is also the
centre for the world’s most famous garden festival, the Chelsea Flower Show, which is included in this program.
Accommodation
We stay in a comfortable central city hotel offering en-suite share twin, double, or single rooms. Typical local
breakfasts and 3 dinners are provided.
What We Will Experience
London provides us with the opportunity to learn about the history of gardening in the city, to visit some of the
great gardens in and around London and to spend a day at the Chelsea Flower Show.
Included are field trips to:
 Discover the horticultural aspects of London, including the Museum of Garden History and the Chelsea
Physic Garden, with a specialist garden guide.
 Royal Horticultural Society’s Garden at Wisley.
 The Royal Palace of Hampton Court with its beautifully restored privy garden.
 The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
 The Chelsea Flower Show (full day),
There will be free time in London for participants to pursue special interests.

Extension Tour
This tour can be booked alone or added to the Golden Age of Art & Garden (we shall include a free Eurostar
journey from Paris to London for participants who book both programs) or prior to Adriatic Discovery or Discover
the Baltic States.
