Portage Stone allows for fluid installation
due to its ease of placement. Each unit
can be turned in any direction to allow a
random look.
To cut a slab in two, use a cold chisel (striking
along the center line towards the outside on both
sides of the slab), or a wet dry diamond saw.

1" screed rails

4' hand level or transit level

String line and stakes

Begin by laying 3 slabs at the center
of the surface to be covered.
Add more sets of 3 slabs to fill in the
surface to be covered.
Complete the balance of the surface
to be covered with single slabs for
the final result.

Begin by laying half a slab at the
left-hand side.
Continue by fitting more sets of
3 slabs (cloverleafs) against the
others. The cutting will be done
when the entire surface has
been covered.
Step 3
Keep the cut-off pieces of slab to
fill in the empty spaces. For some
lengths and widths, the loss can
be limited.
