05-06 Sports Club Guide
Who can Join
bs Meet?
Sport Clubs are organized by students,
however, membership is open to the faculty and staff.
Some clubs may have some members from the public to
help the club with instruction, ability to perform, and in
financing of programs. The club must be comprised of a
majority of students in good standing. The club must
have a faculty advisor that is either from the faculty or
staff to serve as advisors to the club.
With such a variety of clubs, practices are held
in several different locations. Some clubs meet in the
Simon Recreation Center or Busch Student Center
(among others).
Each individual club determines
what the dues will be assessed, The
clubs have its own set of financial
burdens to meet and this determines the amount that each student
must contribute. The clubs can apply
for funds from Student Government
Association and they are encouraged to do fundraising to reduce their
own burden
Each sport club is open to all participants,
regardless of skill, ability, or experience. However
the Competitive Sport Clubs do have their own rules
about tryouts and students need to contact the club
regarding their procedure to become a member. Some
of the Sport Clubs have Division 1 and 2 clubs to
accommodate the competitive, as well as the recreational player.
