YOU HAVE mAdE LIFE ARISE!
Belgium The Madness JULY 26, 27 & 28, 2013 ARISING OF LIFE People of Tomorrowland, YOU HAVE MADE LIFE ARISE! Belgium has long been known for its beer and chocolates, Tin Tin, being the birthplace of Agatha Christie’s Poirot, waffles and frites but more and more it is becoming the homeground of Tomorrowland. Why? Easy: because year after year we can count on all you sharp dressed, fresh looking, funk cooking, dancing, trance-ing and romancing partyharders to take the leading role in our fairy tale. YOU are the people of Tomorrowland. YOU make it happen. WE love YOU! Tomorrowland once again proved to be bigger, louder, harder and most definitely crazier than any other festival in the world! Fireworks synced with the drops of the tracks being played, a massive floating stage in the middle of the lake, fairytale character-like dancers next to the biggest DJs in the world, people wearing flowers in their hair, crowds going mental, soap bubbles everywhere, ferris wheels, garden gnomes – this year had it all. We hope you had the time of your life at this fairyland of bass, just like we did. And looking towards tomorrow, we’re sure next year will be just as overwhelming. LAST WEEKEND THESE DeejayS SAVED YOUR LIFE Mirror, mirror on the wall, which festival has the fairest DJs of ‘em all? Tomorrowland baby! You got dropped, you got popped, you got bass-ed, you got amazed, you got tranced and you danced. Endless fireworks displays, cart pushing bubble vendors, flower petals raining from the sky, free carnival rides, underground and floating stages, the Dreamville camping area, a Church of Love – why would you actually even need music? Because that’s what it’s ATTENTION! This Monday, SNCB will deploy seven extra trains from Boom to Antwerp, apart from their usual schedule. They’re open to all of you – bon voyage! all about, friends! What would this weekend have been without Tiësto and Armin van Buuren putting the trance in dance? What would the Mainstage have looked like without the three Swedish house Mafiosos Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell electrifying you with the fattest of tracks? What if Steve Aoki wasn’t there to make you warp? Without music, life would be a mistake. Special BEST OF DREAMVILLE Page 4 ATTENTION! You just experienced Tomorrowland. Keep in mind that your loved ones at home haven’t. We are not responsible for any harm caused by jealousy – don’t try to tell them all your stories at once! 1 Special TOMORROWWORLD Page 30 REMEMBRANCE OF A FAIRY TALE We’ve seen the wonders tomorrow has us to offer, but our story has finally come to an end. Though the music and voices won’t speak ‘till the next time, we’ll always have stories of what came and went. Let us now tell you about all that has happened – it certainly was not a light thing to bear. Take in the images, keep them forever, so memories of Tomorrowland may always be there. • HIGHLIGHTS • TOMOrROWLaNd TOdaY Colophon The-Reporters Editor in chief: Maaike van der Linden Design: Bram Schinkel Photo editor: Tom Dieleman & Kristof Maes Editors: Ole Thijs, PJ Symons, Erin Gabriel, Pim Dijkgraaf & Milan de Wijs Photographers: Heidie Duteweert, Joey Timmer, Rutger Geerling, Kevin Verkruijssen, Alex van Oostrum, Philippe Roelants, Philippe Wuyts, Sil Vanderbruggen, Maxime Byttebier, Lisa Wals, Nico Alsemgeest, Charlotte Coenen & Jonathan Draize. Seriously! A sh*t!” Mara from Arnhem tells us, while walking back to her tent in nothing more than a towel. “It took us 3 hours to make camp, but now Buddha finally has his bath,” says this bundle of Dutch guys who are longing for the Q-stage. “Buddha wants us to see Gunz For Hire.” A group of friends from Oostende, Belgium, popped their only confetti shooter to spruce up their picture. “All of us are going to Avicii and David Guetta together!” I managed to get an autograph from Dimitri & Mike at Rock Werchter,” says Aurelie (left), joined by her friends Marilien and Ines. “We’re going for another one this weekend!” KEEP ON DREAMING! It’s muddy. It’s cozy. It’s colourful and it’s crazy. We’re talking about Dreamville, of course; the place that has become a second home for many of us. Four nights in a row we’ve made new friends and found love, camped out in the wilderness, dreaming about what the next day would bring. We have become a community of our own, a city within Tomorrowland. We walked the Main Avenue together and looked at the stars after a long day at the festival. As we 4 close this chapter in the epic story that we made together this weekend, take a look around. Greet your neighbours, look for that special person, exchange phone numbers or Facebook profiles. You’ve been wonderful guests. You’ve given Dreamville the allure it’s famous for. Take care of yourself and have a safe trip home. Come back next year, and we’ll write a whole new wondrous chapter in the story of Tomorrowland! 5 Hotspots of Dreamville “There’s six of us, and we needed a big tent. So we bought this tipi. We then realized we would have to come dressed as someone you might find at Chattahoochee, 150 years ago.” Our proud Danish-Indian friends make good use of their feather crowns. They ululate (that’s that ‘uhhwuhhwuhh’ sound Indians make in the movies) at every pretty girl that passes, hoping to draw them in. “There’s six more perfectly girl-sized spots left in the tent. This weekend, we will fill them all.” Such confidence surely cannot go unrewarded. We hope they’ve had a couple guests over the weekend. LOVE TOMORROW If you haven’t gotten rid of your garbage at one of the FloweRbins yet, now is your chance. For a better Tomorrow, we need to work together! A group of friends from Oostende, Belgium, popped their only confetti shooter to spruce up their picture. “All of us are going to Avicii and David Guetta together!” 6 Keep the vibes alive! Spend your last tokens on… The moment we all refused to think about has arrived at last. Tomorowland has come to an inevitable end. We’re tired as hell, with sweat on our backs and the sun on our skin, but with so many awesome memories to take home with us. During the long way home, enjoy yourself by checking out the social media! We saw a whole lot of little gems pass by as our watchful eye continuously F5’d over the last few days. Stay connected to the new friends you’ve made and keep the spirit of Tomorrowland alive online! It’s almost a sin to leave a festival with tokens left in your pocket. Here are some nice ideas to make sure you spend every single one of them. If you’ve got only one token left, you could take a shower or clean your neighbours’ tent to earn another one. The second will give you access to the sauna, or buy you another beer to numb the trip home a little (but don’t drink and drive!). We’ll make it easy for those who have a good heart: can’t decide what to do with your last coin? Just give it to a stranger – you never know what it will lead to… TOMORROWLAND TV From a hidden studio somewhere on the immense festival, Tomorrowland TV shared the fairy tale we’re all part of this weekend with the entire world. GO HOME IN NEW CLOTHES! No dry clothes left? Lost your shirt in a nighttime wrestling session with the girl next door? Visit the Le Coq Sportif merchandise store and redress yourself with their collection of Tomorrowland clothing, caps and many other goodies. They’ve even got shoes, in case yours disappeared into the mud. Make sure to bring cash, as the merch stores don’t accept tokens! But how did Tomorrowland TV bring the mayhem, the feeling and the atmosphere at Boom to the rest of the world? It seems almost impossible to achieve. Editor-in-chief Pieter explains: “This year we’ve focused on the point of view people in the crowd have. Just like all those GoPro-carrying visitors, our cameras were in, not above, the masses to make sure the people at home get the same magical experience as the festival’s visitors. Dreamville radio Just like the last few years, there was a team of radio loving youngsters lined up in the Dreamville radio studio. These young and talented masters of the radio provided you with the best electro tunes and dance classics as well as the latest updates on both the local and the worldwide news. This week there was a lot of new talent behind the mic, together with experienced radio-DJs, and they had a blast! In the words of supervisor Lorenzo van Loon, “Dreamville radio is crazy shit every year! You never know what is going to happen. But it’s exactly that spontaneity that made this weekend so exciting.” Keep it clean Main avenue From today’s dream to tomorrow’s world: this weekend you took your fancy footwork all over our astonishing Main Avenue. The fairy tale road (...insert token Wizard of Oz joke here) proved to be a life line between two parties: the madness of the festival and the lunacy of Dreamville! You are kindly requested to take your tent with you when you break up camp. Are you planning to leave it here anyway? Then please dispose of it in the appropriate containers. Thank you! Have you come by train? Good choice! This Monday Tomorrowland and SNCB collaborate to ensure you a smooth and relaxed trip back home. Golden ticket The Golden Ticket was, of course, a prize desired by many. But ultimately, there could only be one winner. Patrick Krug took the immense effort to create his own fairy tale within the spirit of Tomorrowland, truly deserving the Golden Ticket. After a lot of thinking about the concept of ‘The Arising of Life’, Patrick got the idea for his short movie from the aftermovies of previous editions of Tomorrowland and he was incredibly happy when he heard he’d won. “I couldn’t believe it! Insanity followed, pure madness.” Missed Patrick’s short movie? Look it up at facebook.com/ Tomorrowland. 1: Sarah Hunt (Great Britain) 2: Alejandro Zapata Sada (Spain) 3: Melissa Baele and friends (Belgium) ELIXIR OF LIFE STAY connected After nine years of aging, the secret was ready to be unveiled. The first Tomorrowland Rum, The Elixir of Life, had arrived. And we gave away three of these handcrafted bottles! Since the beginning of Tomorrowland in 2004, the rum inside has been aging in Bacardi’s hidden cellars somewhere in Puerto Rico. Our winners used their imagination and got creative with their tents. Each day we picked a winner and they were happy to receive their unique flask from the Bacardi master in the Bacardi comfort zone. facebook.com/tomorrowland twitter.com/tomorrowland (#Tomorrowland) instagram.com/tomorrowland youtube.com/user/TomorrowlandChannel plus.google.com/+Tomorrowland 8 Apart from the usual schedule, SNCB will deploy seven extra trains from Boom to the Central Station of Antwerp on Monday. These extra trains will be used to bring all travelers home as soon as possible. The additional services will naturally also be available to train package owners. Hopefully, they will help you travel home without any trouble, bringing this carefree weekend to a carefree end. The pretty lady above is yesterday’s Flowerbeauty of the Day, Lindsey Blassieaux from Brasschaat. Floor.be is a new online platform dedicated to everything green and growing, and their Flowerqueen Floor has chosen Lindsey as her favourite. Floor.be is the place to be for gardening DIYs, tips and guides to make your own green life arise. Keep an eye on it after the festival, for soon, a contest will be unveiled in which you can win a ‘green oasis’ make-over for your home! Tomorrowland: The Arising of Life 2CD and Digital Album Can’t get enough? Do you want to relive the magical music played at Tomorrowland or share it with your friends? The Tomorrowland 2CD or Digital Album is now available, featuring Dirty South, One Republic, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Zedd and many others. Check Tomorrowland.com! 9 The widest spectrum in dance music This weekend the broadest range of dance music passed by on fifteen different stages in Boom. We list them one more time for you, because there’s a reasonable chance you didn’t catch everything with so many great things to see. At fifteen perfectly provided areas with beautifully decorated stages, Tomorrowland has tried to give you the weekend of your life. Our overview of all the areas and partners who have made three days of madness possible can be found on the following pages. On behalf of all the artists, stagehands, technicians and promoters: thanks for dancing! Q-DANCE Holland is well-known thanks to their windmills and a few export products. Some of you know Gouda Kaas and tulips, but there’s one thing almost every one of you will know: Q-dance! For three days the orange warriors showed our festival’s visitors what ‘hard’ means. Their stage is a huge success year after year, and this weekend was no exception, even though they had to stop more than an hour early on Saturday due to bad weather. Villain rocked the stage all three days as master of ceremonies. He took the best DJs Q-dance could think of and put a mark on Tomorrowland with his three teams. RADIO ULTRA MODERN CARL COX & FRIENDS / SUPER YOU & ME / DAVE CLARKE It’s not all about plain dance-music at a constant BPM, is it? Radio Ultra Modern had a small stage opposite area 3. Both podia were situated oaround the same lake, but their shows and music genres can’t be compared at all. Radio Ultra Modern used interactive entertainment to let the crowd get in contact with the DJs behind the funky tunes played in this cozy area full of surprises. Except for this little thing: Radio Modern filled our hearts, souls and heads with summer vibes, transforming their corner of Tomorrowland into an Ultra Modern Carnival as they’ve successfully done for years. The ‘second mainstage’ was represented by three different legendary hosts. This stage – better known as ‘area 1’ – was dressed up as a huge butterfly with a ferris wheel behind it. Carl Cox was the first host to step up to this stage with his friends. Saturday was taken care of by of Super You&Me presenting artists like Superman, Batman & Iron Man and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Dave Clarke got the chance to beat his two predecessors on Sunday. Did he succeed? We can’t say who was the best, but we do know Dave and his team rocked the stage. FORMAT / FERRY CORSTEN PR. FULL ON / KNE’DEEP Located conveniently close to the giant butterfly, stage 2 was situated in a big tent you couldn’t miss while exploring its side of the grounds. Like many others, this area accommodated a different host every evening. Artists like Bad Dancer and the Crookers came out for Format on Friday. Ferry Corsten presented his ‘Full On’ concept on Saturday. His personal favourites, including Sied van Riel and Cosmic Gate, filled this second day. Ferry joined every artist for a fifteen minutes back2back. Sunday, the last day, was up to Kne’Deep. Six artists pushed the tempo over here, with a 4-hour set by Rush as absolute peak. WINTERCLUBBING / WOODY WEEKEND / COINCIDENCE A true hidden gem, this little cave of bricks was hard to find if you didn’t know about it. But even though it was easy to miss, it was the scene of some serious raving. On Friday Winter Clubbing from Luxembourg set the stage with a line-up including Dimitri Wouters. Saturday, a large variety of styles was provided by the Woody Weekend crew, with Niels&Jelle and Thim amongst others. Coincidence Records made Sunday memorable by inviting some ‘first ladies’ of techno like Esther Duijn and Berghain-regular Rebekah. The infamous ‘rave cave’ will be remembered for being a warm and cozy home away from home after this weekend for sure. WE PLAY HOUSE REC. / BONZAI / PROFOUND SOUNDS TAPE / KETALOCO / DAILY DUBSTEP Jaw crunching subs could be heard everywhere on the first day of Tomorrowland. But only at the TAPED stage were jaws truly broken by Jaguar Skills and colleagues. Looking out on the beautiful waters on the terrain, you had to make some effort to reach this nirvana of glitch hop, drum ‘n bass and everything in between. Head honcho Solomun of his own Diynamic Music played Saturday for a dedicated crowd until Ketaloco took over the stage. On Sunday it all came full circle at this intimate jungle with the hosting of Daily Dubstep. We’re still recovering from the sets played by Benga and Dismantle. Looking out over one of the lakes, podium 3 varied more radically than most. We Play House Recordings took care of the line-up on Friday. They’re known for their straight-on house and disco music. Saturday had a more progressive taste. Bonzai Music have been active since the early 90’s and ou can still hear that in the authentic progressive music, so the more old-school orientated people had a great time here. Profound Sounds got the honour to provide the artists for the last day. These club-minded guys danced the floor to a relaxed ending. 10 11 B2B / DERRICK CARTER INV. FAMILY&FRIENDS / CAFEINA Infected Mushroom surely was the cream of the crop on Friday at the B2B area. As two of the greatest innovators within the world of psytrance, they delivered a performance to remember alongside others such as Astrix and Bitkit. Derrick Carter ran the show on Saturday, inviting ‘Friends and Family’ – meaning heroes like Riva ‘Snatch!’ Starr and Flapjackers delivering some bad-ass beats. Latin-house god (although recently he’s been exploring so much more genres) Gregor Salto accompanied Stereoclash and Roma on the decks when Cafeina made their statement on Sunday. Standing at the wooden bridge, we could only smile at you all dancing like crazy. MAINSTAGE Nature gave Tomorrowland a massively sized amphitheater, and we’ve gratefully filled it with the biggest, the most extraordinary and the most awesome larger than live DJ’s! It was only last year that we’ve had the very last festival-gig of Swedish House Mafia lined up for you, but don’t you worry child for this year Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell brought the madness back, times three! Tiësto tranced your asses off, Avicii got us all up a few Levels and David Guetta & friends, Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren and of course MC Stretch showed you the love. CAF’E D’ANVERS INV. PARADISE / COCOON HEROES / MINUS MARKUS SCHULZ / STAR WARZ / I LOVE THE 90’S The Paradise area was spearheaded by rising techno star Jamie Jones on Friday. Backed up by the allure of Café d’Anvers from Antwerp, Jamie rocked together with Art Department, Inifinity Ink and many others. And if you thought that was all the infamous nightclub had to offer, you’d be wrong! The legends from Cocoon provided our Saturday with some first-class techno. Mixmaster Sven Väth was only one of many famous artists such as Ricardo Villalobos and Joris Voorn. Today, on Sunday, Richie ‘goddamn’ Hawtin brought along some friends from his MINUS label as well. Matador and Gaiser unwrapped a massive live set, leading to some instant eargasms. Wow! Markus Schulz – aka America’s number one DJ – pulled off quite the stunt on Friday with a DJ set from 1 PM until 1 AM! Now that’s what we call going to work properly. Afterwards Star Warz Saturday was on, providing you the best dubstep, the fattest of drops, the lowest of basslines and the most mental drumfills – signed: DJ Hype, Delta Heavy, S.P.Y. and Brookes Brothers. And then quickly, back to the old school with I Love The 90’s where you could once again see Marshal Masters, Cor Fijneman, Kai Tracid and DaHool relive all the glory! DESPERADOS DIM MAK / KOZZMOZZ / TRANCE ADDICT Cakes. Cakes and champagne everywhere! Long-haired Steve Aoki proved himself to be a true master of partying once again at the Dim Mak Records stage on Friday, paving the way for DJs like South Central and Datsik. It was hot. It was sweaty. It was sweet and it was epic. Thanks Steve! On Saturday, Len Faki, Technasia, Adam Beyer and more took care of your need for techno in a way that can only be described with ‘fanf*cking-tastic’! And Sunday, last but not least, the guys from Trance Addict made us move with the legendary Paul van Dyk, Arctic Moon and many more. Just the way that Desperados provides you all a blistering, fuzzy, hard-hitting, party-ready mélange of beer and tequila, their own stage also saw the best of different worlds colliding together into one huge fist of pounding, stomping music. They’ve had jazz fusionist Bakermat coming over to show that he had a lot more in store than his massive hit Vandaag, while KiNK and Goldfox filled in the blanks. Saturday was all for Yellow Claw, Murdock and the beautiful Belgians Ed & Kim and Sunday the bad-asses of The Whatevers, Laston & Geo and The Mixfitz to put the flame to it. BLUEFLAME INV. JACKED / V-SESSIONS / SMASH THE HOUSE VS DIRTY DUTCH SAMSUNG SECRET FOREST What a bleast we’ve had going on at this stage, right? On Friday Blueflame made sure that you ALL got Jacked properly as Afrojack invited some friends of his – well, nog just any friends, awesome friends like R3hab, Sidney Samson, The Oddword and Mystique! On Magical Saturday this tent proved to be a good home to V-Sessions when Yves V took the stage with his own heroes like Eric Prydz, Nicky Romero and Pete Tong. Sunday, ultimately, we had Smash The House vs Dirty Dutch. Needless to say, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Chuckie, Kaskade, Regi and the rest totally killed it. Remember kiddos: what happens in the Secret Forest, stays in the Secret Forest! Nah, just kidding! We wouldn’t want you to keep any secrets when this petite stage proved to be one of the biggest hits and surprises of the festival weekend! James Egbert, Burns, Mikkas and Delafino got the party started on Friday, Promise Land, Mr Moustache, Cooper, Alvaro and Dave Lambert took the torch on Saturday and Julia Carpenter, Blasterz, West Klintwood and Nicolaz put the cherry on top of it all on Sunday. It was a secret forest, but let’s not keep this a secret! 12 13 THE GATHERING On Thursday the infamous Dreamville opened its doors for you, the people of Tomorrowland, already in a raving mood. Heavily packed with tents, beer, bags, portable showers and more, you took the place by storm. Within just a couple of hours an entire city was erected. The anticipation was buzzing around wherever you looked. The feeling of being together led 14 to new friendships and on some occasions, love. And after all that hard work, the Gathering started for all who didn’t want to wait ‘till Friday. Masters of ceremony and ambassadors of Tomorowland Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike turned the campsite into a festival within a festival. It was a little sneak peek into the utter mayhem the next days would bring. 15 Finally, the moment we’ve all been waiting for so damn long arrived. After a quick shower and choice of outrageous outfit for the day, Tomorrowland welcomed you to The Arising of Life. In the months leading up to this, the question what the mainstage would look like held all of us in a tight grip. A giant volcano rose up at the bottom of our beloved valley. The moment you first laid eyes on it will stay with you forever. But that was not all! Further up ahead you saw a giant butterfly with an even bigger ferris wheel looking out over Tomorrowland. Legendary artists like John Digweed, Otto Knows and Markus Schulz (who played a 12-hour set!) gave you the very best electronic music has to offer. Friday was fantastic. 16 17 NETSKY LIVE • CEELO GREEN PITBULL • TEXAS SNOOP DOGG aka SNOOP LION BEADY EYE • DEEP PURPLE ALICE COOPER • DANZIG W/DOYLE IGGY & THE STOOGES • THE B-52’S DAMIEN RICE • SEASICK STEVE PRIMAL SCREAM • TINIE TEMPAH PENDULUM DJ SET & VERSE EMPIRE OF THE SUN SUB FOCUS DJ SET & ID OZARK HENRY • ARNO AXELLE RED • DAAN SABATON • BALTHAZAR MONSTER MAGNET THE FRATELLIS • TRIVIUM • SX KILLING JOKE • FEAR FACTORY ENTER SHIKARI • YELLOWCARD DONAVON FRANKENREITER • ANVIL UGLY KID JOE • MAGNUS THE OPPOSITES FAR EAST MOVEMENT RIZZLE KICKS • SOJA • COELY CREATURE WITH THE ATOM BRAIN COMPAcT DISK DUMMIES • THE HAPPY MURDOCK ft JENNA G & MC CARASEL Hindu radio dj’s ft eppo janssen stubru dream team • dirk STOOPS papy harder & mon colonel Grote Kaai Lokeren info & tickets www.lokersefeesten.be LAZY JAY • DANNY BYRD + DYNAMITE MC • DILLINJA FCL ft LADY LINN • BUSCEMI • TLP KILLSONIK • THE OTHERS • SUBSCAPE • SYNDAESIA RAVING GEORGE • MODEK • MUMBAI SCIENCE SOUND OF STEREO • B • EGO TROOPERS THE MIXFITZ • HALVE NEURO • SURFING LEONS KILL FRENZY • COMPUPHONIC • A.N.D.Y. We heard banging techno beats by Carl Cox, got drenched in champagne by Steve Aoki, banged our heads to Bawser and saw Hardwell tearing down the mainstage. And flags, lots of them! Tomorrowland 2013 was brightened by the presence of party people flying in from far and wide. Whether you’re from Boom, Belgium or from Islamabad, Pakistan, you have our heartfelt thanks. Without its unsurpassed variety, this weekend would have been bland; without all of you, it would have been nonexistent. But now, it is time to say goodbye. So long, everyone. We hope to see you again. And if you are ready to reunite with Tomorrow in only two months… turn the page. 28 29 OUR SECOND HOME Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia SEPTEMBER 27, 28 & 29, 2013 THE FAIRYTALE CONTINUES The weekend may be over, but this year’s madness hasn’t ended yet. For the first time in history, Tomorrowland is crossing borders and bridging the Atlantic, landing in GEORGIA and morphing into… TomorrowWorld. With big DJ names like David Guetta, Hardwell, Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris, hundreds of thousands of people will travel to the 2,000-acre (8 km2) Bouckaert Farm, located in the Chattahoochee Hills, about 20 minutes west of Atlanta. The organizers of Tomorrowland scoured more than 100 sites before deciding on Bouckaert Farm because of its similar natural setting to the landscape of De Schorre in Belgium where the original festival takes place. “Before we announced it was coming to the US, people thought it was coming to Brazil, they thought it was coming to Mexico,” Justin Epstein, spokesperson for TomorrowWorld, says. “It’s almost like winning the Olympics of house music. It’s like winning the World Cup or the Olympics for your city.” Atlanta is expecting about 130,000 fans for the three-day festival in September. Tomorrowland was founded by Manu and Michiel Beers, Belgian brothers who describe it as “more exciting than anything we ever dreamed of when we started years ago as young music lovers and entrepreneurs.” “When the two brothers started the festival, they started it because they love where they’re from, they love their hometown, and they just love music,” Epstein explains. “Truthfully it started as a little festival and it just literally grew and grew and grew. And the reason why it’s become what it has become is just because the Beers brothers never lost sight of that.” The number of people who attended Tomorrowland doubled from 90,000 in 2009 to 180,000 in 2012. “This thing is more than a festival, it’s an experience,” Epstein 30 continues. “The best way I would explain it is Burning Man with Cirque du Soleil. It’s so theatrical and over the top, like magical.” And it’s a huge deal that it’s coming to Atlanta. “Right now, Atlanta is such a cultural melting pot. It’s amazing who comes here. With TomorrowWorld coming, the amount of money that comes in, the jobs created — it’s a great opportunity for any city or any place.” Clearly, TomorrowWorld’s hosting city is looking forward to the occasion. So… what about you? Will you extend your story, enter the magical madness again, and travel to Chattahoochee Hills? Will we see you there? We certainly hope so. See you there! When we hit the road, we’re taking Tiësto, Steve Aoki, Armin van Buuren and David Guetta along with us! They will slam down your ears and your thighs, America! Just like they did at Tomorrowland. Next to those big guns, you can also count on Tomorrow-regulars like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Yves V, Chuckie, Sander van Doorn, Afrojack, Delta Heavy, Mystique, Regi, Fedde Le Grand and Red-D. Nevertheless, you’ll also be seeing some rather new faces at Tomorrowworld! Local talent, American superstars and some of the most awesome DJ’s from countries you maybe have not even heard of! Take Shreddie Mercury for example. You wouldn’t know it based on the complexity and addictiveness of his music, but the 24 year old producer has only been creatin electronic music for just over a year from his home studio in Columbia, MO. Despite his young age, he became one of THE producer prodigiess you should keep an eye on! Furthermore you’ve got the extraordinary ‘musical conversation’ Avan Lava that is actually a duo project by Le Chev and Ian Pai. Last but not least: don’t miss out on Bro Safari aka d’n’b badass DJ Knick’s new alter ego. 32 PRESENTS MARCO V - JUDGE JULES ( PRODUCERS SEt ) GiUSEPPE OttAViAni LIVE! - BOBinA MyOn AnD ShAnE 54 - inDECEnt nOiSE 4 StRinGS - JOnAS StEnBERG - JUVEntA SPECiAL GUESt: BEtSiE LARkin LIVE!
