Pssst! Whisper in Santa`s Ear
Issue Number 17
December 1, 2011
Many thanks to Kathy Brelage and her decorating crew of elves for giving the Gallery its Holiday Spirit!
See Us on Video
The Hendricks County Convention and
Visitors Bureau, along with Hey, Danville! have
recently videoed two in their series for keeping the
public aware of what is happening in town as well
as at the Gallery on the Square. The Hey,
Danville! video is already available online at Hey!
Danville Episode #3 at youtube.com, where Jerri
Crosby, Kathy Brelage and Rose Richard are
featured, along with Donna Nolan-Sanders and her
Wednesday evening class.
The next in the Holly Hendricks HCCVB
series, due later this week at tourhendricks
county.com (click on Holly’s Travel Video’s),
features her visit to the Gallery with friends, and
Rose, Shirley Adams and Marti McCoy
participating. For those of you who’ve yet to step
into our little jewel of a shop, now’s your chance to
see us, before you visit.
COOKIE TRAIL HINT
The second annual Cookie Trail in a baker’s dozen
businesses, one being the Gallery on the Square, has begun.
Each Cookie Trail stop (including ours) has been assigned a
unique holiday cookie recipe that is stored online. In other
words, for someone to get all 13 cookie recipes, they will have
to visit all 13 locations to access each online recipe. Visitors
may access the recipes two ways. The online recipes may be
accessed through a QR code, which is a square barcode that
works with smart phones or by putting the code available at
our shop into your computer.
Hint: If you or your friends are diabetic and still crave
peanut butter and jelly, ours is just the recipe for you!
Pssst! Whisper in Santa’s Ear
Again this year we will feature the cunning
assist to Santa, our popular note suggesting to Santa
what might just be the object of your desires, when
he visits our Gallery for ideas. We’re all too
familiar with last minute Santas, with that deer-in-
the-headlights look, wandering around our shop.
With the card you’ve left just for him he’ll have no
problem locating the right item of jewelry, art or
fashions that would light up your Christmas
morning.
Do you have a particularly
prickly recipient to shop for?
There’s something to suit every
taste at GOTS!
Just ask for a “Wish List” card.
GOTS “SATELLITE” LOCATION
Several of the Gallery artists have moved
some of their premium artwork into a “satellite”
location at Cass and Company Salon in Avon.
The luxurious hair, nail, massage, etc. salon
features a multi-story gallery space, where you may
see some familiar, as well as some new work from
2-D artists, Donna Nolan-Sanders (oils/acrylics),
Shirley Adams (fiber arts), Shirley Woolard
(watercolors), Rose Richard (photography), Jerry
Botzum (oils) and Marti McCoy (watercolors).
Their brick building is located on Business Center
Dr., just east of the Avon Middle School complex,
south off US 36. Call 272-3770 or check out their
website at cassandcompanysalon.com/.
This Donna Nolan-Sanders painting will hang at Cass & Co.
The Avon business was voted one of the top
200 Fastest Growing Salons, as chosen by Salon
Today Magazine in 2004 through 2009 - and also
voted "The Best of the Best” in Hendricks County
in 2005 and 2008, and now has added ART to their
list of ambiance enhancing pleasures.
Did you know that Marti McCoy’s watercolor class
took a recent field trip to see the Indiana
Watercolor Society’s annual show at the
Indianapolis Museum of Art?
