instructions for protection not only of first graders but also
of all
the other
children
in traffic.
The Police
Station
representatives
held for our low graders
an interesting educative
class offering them an attractive and useful handouts.
Students
&teachers
were given
the
instructuions
how to avoid
traffic dangers
and how
to learn
traffic safety
rules
which help
keep
everybody
staying safe..
“It may seem like a lot to remember,but
keeping all the rules of traffic safety in mind
will keep you out of harm’s way”,said the

His poetry was published in various magazines:
Živena, Slovenské pohľady, ZlatáPraha,Lidovénoviny,Evanjelický
posol spod Tatier, Tvorba T, Cirkevné listy He is famous for his
book for children and the young.
.As a poet and prosaist he ranks one of the most
outstanding figure of the Slovak litearture in 20th
century.The dominant feature of his works is love for the
mankind and optimistic attitude toward life..He believed
that a poem had to be musical.He himself was interested in
music-he collaborated with the Slovak composer Jan Cikker for
the libretto of the opera Beg Bajazid and he also was a co-creator
of the libretto of the opera Mr. Scrooge(Tiene).He also
collaborated with the composer Frico Kafenda who composed
on the text of Smrek’s poetry.

This summer I was in Slovakia.
It was nice there. One day I
want to Dinopark. I saw there
many kinds of dinosaurs:
Plateosaurus, Stegosaurus,
Allosaurus, Eoraptor,
Brachiosaurus, Tiranosaurus
Rex etc. Dinosaurs are very
interesting animals. When I was
there I watched the movie
about dinosaurs and took a few
pictures.

They say that Nitra, like Rome, was founded on seven hills. Its name is
connected with the beginnings of the history of Slovakia, with the names
of Pribina, Svatopluk, Sts. Cyril and Methodius and even with the mention

Nitra is the oldest town in Slovakia. In the 9th century, it was a
princely seat of the Great Moravian Empire. In 830, the first castle
and Christian church in Slovakia were built. Nitra became an
independent royal town in 1248. It suffered from several Turkish
invasions. The Nitra Castle is the most visited monument in the
city. The cultural life in Nitra is very rich. The areas around Nitra
provide several highly interesting activities. A hiking path will take
you, for example, to Zobor, from the top of which is a lovely view
of this winegrowing region. There are ruins of the oldest
monastery in Slovakia. The national natural reserve at Zobor is
home to numerous species of animals and plants.

This summer we went to the seaside to Croatia.It was
gorgious!!! We had a splendid time together with my friend Daria
and her parents, and of course with my parents and my brother-it
was such a wonderful team for having fun! .The weather did not
disappointed us.It was shiny all the time,we swam and sunbathed
and what to say, we eagerly wait for another summer holidays to

Miroslav Valek (Trnava1927 - Bratislava1991, Slovakia),a
Slovak poet, publicist and politician, translator, for many
years Minister of Culture (1969 -1988). Among his volumes of
poetry the most memorable were Contacts (1959), Attraction
(1961), Unrest (1963) and Love with Goose-flesh (1965).
Together with Lubomir Feldek and Milan Rufus he was a
constitutor of modern poetry for children.He made
Kids’ ;poetry as valuable as that for adults.In his book of
poetry “Do Tramtarie”-”To Neverland”he showed his talent
for humor,absurdity,metaphor,nonsense,loose vers.He
revealed the inside of a child,he made kids’ imaginative
world poetical.He introduced into the kids’ poetry the
principle of poetry expression from the aspect of
children.

Camels have lived
in some of the
most desolate corners of our planet, and not only do they live,
they thrive. Most
large animals are
unable to survive in
these kinds of
desolate places.

camels are omnivorous. They

bone,-- salty or sweet, a camels stomach knows
no limits. But it is their temperament that is truly endeared the

One hot day, a thirsty crow flew all over the fields looking
for water. For a long time, she could not find any. She felt
very weak, almost giving up hope.
Suddenly, she saw a water jug below her. She flew straight
down to see if there was any water inside. Yes, she could
see some water inside the jug!
The crow tried to push her head into the jug. Sadly, she
found that the neck of the jug was too narrow. Then she
tried to push the jug down for the water to flow out. She
found that the jug was too heavy.
The crow thought hard for a while. Then looking around
her, she saw some pebbles. She suddenly had a good idea.
She started picking up the pebbles one by one, dropping
each into the jug. As more and more pebbles filled the
jug, the water level kept rising. Soon it was high enough
for the crow to drink. Her plan had worked!
Moral of the Story: If you try hard enough, you may soon
find an answer to your problem.

Quince Trees- a symbol of fertility&
The Quince tree is a rare Asian
love
fruit tree related to the apple
and pear tree. Immature
Quince fruit is covered
with fuzz somewhat like a
peach but this fuzz mostly rubs
off when fruit ripens from green
to yellow. While they do
produce some fruit alone,
Quince trees benefit greatly by
having a second plant nearby
for cross pollination.
Our grandmothers used to put a
couple of fruits on a cupboard ,then
the air in the room would be filled
with the sweet
delicious
scent that would last for months
as the ripening process develops…
Quince trees are great fun to
climb in during September and
October to harvest the fruit, while
it is in the green color stage.
