Arachnid Celebrates
Bullshooter’s 31st!

Arachnid celebrated the BullShooter Finals 31st Anniversary over Memorial Day
weekend, May 26-30, 2016, at the Hyatt
Regency O’Hare, in Rosemont, Illinois.
The 5-day weekend was fantastic with
players coming from all over the world
including Canada, France, Spain, and
the Netherlands. Even some players we
haven’t seen for years were there seeing
old friends and joining in the competition.
The parties on Saturday and Sunday night
were a lot of fun with players dressing for
the beach party theme on Saturday and
country western theme on Sunday night.
Prizes were given out all weekend at the
party plus $100 an hour was given to players in a random drawing from registration
forms during the day on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. On Thursday a 4-person
team event called Monsters of The Midway was played for the early arrivals in
four divisions. Then on Friday the prestigious Top Gun events with a single elimination format took place in Singles with
four divisions and Triples in two divisions.
The Top Gun Men’s A/AA Singles championship was Eric Blackledge vs. Larry Butler in the finals. Eric won the first game
in six rounds with a 5.86 MPR. The second game both Eric and Larry had everything closed and Eric won the game with
more points. The third game Larry came
back and won with a 5.79 MPR in only
five rounds. But Eric captured the fourth
game and claimed the championship.
The Women’s Top Gun A/AA Singles
event came down to Julie Weger and Holly Thompson defeating top competition to
face each other in the championship. Julie
was on fire shooting excellent darts and taking the Top Gun Women’s A / AA Singles
title. There were also fun events available
between events for players eliminated from
Top Gun. A Bud Blind Draw was held
and a Friday Hammer Cricket Doubles.
Saturday, before the main events started,
the National Anthem was sung by Melanie Carter. Then the rules were read and
the main events started at 10 a.m. with ‘01
Doubles in three divisions in Men’s events
and three divisions in Women’s events.
There was a 2nd Chance Men’s Doubles
for the men eliminated that wanted more
playing time and also a Hammer Team
Cricket. Both of these events were 100%
payback with $250 added to each. In the
afternoon, a Pro and Pro AA Cricket Luck

Celebration Of Darts Is Here Once Again

The time is quickly approaching! Just a few days from the
time this publication hits the
streets, COD will be here!
Who is ready? COD, you hear
it and what do you think? Cash
on delivery? Well for Western
Washington Dart League dart
players it means the 2016 Celebration of Darts tournament
on July 8th, 9th, 10th at the
Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester Washington has arrived!
What is COD? It is a tourney
held once a year for all WWDL
league players that compete all
year long for points by playing
leagues and tourneys to qualify
them for all events. This event
consists of Friday night location challenge where the top
four point earners from each
4
bar come out to represent their
bar and try and take home the
humongous Trophy. Also at this
time the top four point earners
on the Match Madness list play
off for their bars rights to the
Match Madness Trophy. Friday night is the Lucky Eagle
Open Parity Draw where all are
welcome. Saturday morning
is trios, pre-made teams with
players that earned 200 or more
points throughout the year can
play. Saturday at 4pm WWDL
trios draw happens, where the
top 192 WWDL Point earners have the first right to enter.
Saturday at 9:15pm is Lucky
Eagle Parity Draw. Sunday
morning WWDL Doubles premade teams compete. In the afternoon the All Stars showcase
goes down. These are the top
32 females and top 32 males ,
who battle for top 2 male and
female. The night tourney is
the jukebox party. It is a quad
draw in which all are invited to
play. All participants will earn
50 points at the jukebox party! YES! Fifty points for next
year’s COD. So whether you
are new, or whether you have
been playing for years, this is
an amazing tourney to attend
and play. Hope to see ya there.
HOT SHOT HAS A NEW HOME
On June 4th Channel Marker
played against Just Left for the
Hot Shot Cup. The teams were
Daniel Aires, Jason Bartosis,
Alan Borseth and Judy Heter for
Channel Marker. The Just Left
Team consisted of Renee Yepez,
Sean Albert, Gary White and
Jessica Hester. At one point in
the games. Just Left was down
11 to 4 and then came back on a
little run to bring the score up to
7. Channel Marker had 16 and
it looked like they were about
to win, but Just Left came back
to win 17 to 16 with the final
match being taken out by Jessica Hester, their lowest rated
player, taking it out with a triple
10! Congratulations to the new
owners of the Hot Shot Cup!
That’s quite a story and quite the

by Mixed Cricket Doubles.
In the prestigious Pro AA 501
Doubles, Jesus Perea Noguera,
from Spain, and Danny Delfino,
from Georgia, came through
the winner’s bracket undefeated to play Leonard Gates, from
Texas, and Danny Baggish,
from Florida, in the Bull Pen.
Leonard and Danny B. were
sent to the loser’s side their
second match by Eric Blackledge and Alex Reyes. They
fought their way back through
the loser’s side to play Alex and
Eric again, this time defeating
them, leaving them 3rd place,
and going on to the Bull Pen to
play Jesus and Danny D. The
first two games were won by
Danny B. and Leonard taking
it to the second match. It was
a very exciting match with Jesus and Danny D. winning the
first two games. Then things
changed as Leonard and Danny B. won the third and fourth
game tying things up and taking it to the fifth game. The
team of Leonard and Danny B.
won the tie-breaker, the match,
and 1st place honors in Pro
AA Doubles. Both teams shot
great darts! On Sunday two fun
events started early at 9 a.m.-Luck of Draw Toilet Bowl
Shootout and Super 13” Toilet
Bowl Singles with 100% pay-
back plus an extra $500 added
to each event. At 10 a.m. the
International Parade and competition took place. The 4-person team competition was exciting to watch with teams from
Canada, France, Spain, Netherlands and the U.S.A. competing. The event began with
the teams marching in to their
country’s National Anthem they
were awarded medallions, and
photos were taken in the Bull
Pen with the large International Cup. Then the round-robin
format event started with each
team playing each other. The
two teams with the most wins-Team Netherlands with 8 wins,
and Team U.S.A. with 10 wins-met in the Bull Pen to play
a best of seven finals. Team
Netherlands won the first game,
Team U.S.A. won the second
game followed by game three
and four won by Team Netherlands. Team Netherlands only
needed one game to win the
match, but Team U.S.A. held
on by winning the game. Team
Netherlands came back the
6th game for the win and new
International Championship!
The team said it was the most
memorable event the whole
weekend. Team U.S.A. put up
a great fight, but Team Netherlands shot excellent darts claiming the victory. The other main
events played on Sunday were
Women’s Combo Luck in two
divisions, Men’s 501 Singles,
Pro AA & Pro Mixed Cricket
Doubles and Mixed 701 Triples. On Monday Pro 501 Singles, Pro AA 501 Singles and
Women’s Cricket Doubles in
three divisions were started at 9
a.m. The last events of the day,
and tournament, were Cricket
Doubles in three divisions.
Most Valuable Player Awards
are awarded to both a male and
female with the highest points
for the weekend. Points are
based on placement in the main
events and Top Gun events.
Julie Weger, from Normal, Illinois, earned the most points
in the Women’s Division and
Eric Blackledge, from St. Louis, Missouri, earned the most
points in the Men’s Division.
Both winners received beautiful
BullShooter MVP rings for their
achievements. On Saturday and
Sunday nights parties were held
in the ballroom with a DJ, dancing, and prizes given away to
players that played in the day’s
events including two free rooms
at the Hyatt, two BullShooter
Jerseys from Redeye Rhino,
two new Galaxy 3 Commercial style Home Games and
cash prizes for the best dressed.
The tournament was a huge success with the weekend events
running on time and the players having a great time enjoying all the competition, the
camaraderie, renewing acquaintances from past BullShooters and making new friends.

MIXED LIMITED CUP STAYS PUT

On June 26th, 2016, the smell
of saltwater filled the air in
Edmonds, WA. The sun was
shiny and the trains were loud,
but that didn’t stop the Mixed
Limited Cup from happening.
The team from Ringer’s located in Mount Lake Terrace,
hopped across town to take
on the defending team from
Channel Marker. Clint, Angie,
Jesse and Amber played their
hearts out. Channel Marker’s
Jason, Renee, Daniel and Judy
are a tough team to beat. Every game was right down to
the end, with one of the cricket
games turning into a scoring
battle and actually rounding
out. At the end of the afternoon, as evening approached,
it was Channel Marker that
kept the trophy.It turned out to
be a beautiful day with a lot of
good friends coming together to
shoot it out at the dart boards.
We will see what happens next,
but Channel Marker has a pretty
good hold on some of the Cups!

The 4th Annual Angry Beaver Shoot Results

Saturday June 25, 2016 hosted at the Pickled Onion was
the 4th Annual Angry Beaver
Shoot. Twenty women came
out to play, from Bremerton to
Tacoma. It was a beautiful day
out and everyone was ready for
a good time. The ladies all received some fun gifts and the
fun began. Music blasting, girls
dancing and singing and shooting some amazing darts. There
was a lot of close matches as
the teams were pretty evenly
matched. It was double elimination. The team of Stephanie
and Misty, who had be knocked
into the losers bracket by Yelena and Naomi, got a chance to
take them on again in a rematch
playing for 2nd or 3rd. The
match was tight, they went to
the grudge match and a battle of
points and I believe to the 23rd
round they went. In the end,
with the bulls closed, Naomi
was able to hit a bull to get ahead
in points and then close with her
last 2 darts to single 17’s to close
all and take the win to move
onto play for 2nd or first, and
Stephanie and Misty taking 3rd.
Yelena and Naomi went on to
play the team in the drivers seat
of Patti and Mary. Both teams
came out swinging. They were
very close games and went to a
grudge match. Yelena and Naomi won the first match, since
Patti and Mary had not lost a
match yet, they had to be beat
twice. They started the second
match and just like the first, it
was intense, back and forth they
battled. In the end the team of
Yelena and Naomi took the win.
What a great turnout and what
a great day! Congrats everyone,
can’t wait to see you next year!

The World Soft Darts World
Championship was held last
month on June 19th in La Rochelle, France and was very
well attended, to say the least!
The matches were streamed live
on http://www.darts-theworkd.
com/en/live/ and were viewed
world wide by countless numbers of onlookers! The excitement built until the end, and
Alex Reyes took first place,
representing the United States.
A close second was taken by
Leonard Gates, also from USA!
Third went to Boris Kremar of
Croatia and fourth was won by
Cyril Blot, representing France.

neck and neck. Congratulations
to Alex who took the time to
speak with me the day after his
big win. He was very humble
and appreciative and I think
still in shock at the moment!
When he returned home to San
Antonio, Texas his family and
friends threw him a big party
to help celebrate his victory. In
a Facebook post he expressed
his gratitude: “I want to thank
everyone for coming out last
night, it truly meant more than
I can explain. I was caught by
surprise, this was the last thing
I ever expected, but to have my
family come out and celebrate
with us was really touching and
meant the world to me! Last
but not least Mykaila Ramirez,
wow babe I can not thank you
enough for all that you do.
You’re very supportive and
always have my back no matter what. You helped me build
my confidence and my game
to compete against the best in
the world so once again thank
you and I love you!” Way to
go, and congrats to everyone!
