FESTIVAL PROGRAMME
SiMBA was formed in 2005 to support bereaved
parents. SiMBA is about memories. We help
parents gather precious items for their Memory
Box which we provide. We understand the
importance of spending time with the baby in our
Family Room. Adding a leaf on our Tree of
Tranquility shows parents that they are not alone
with their loss and acts as a place to remember and reflect. Our
charity aims to reach as many maternity and neonatal units as
possible to enhance the bereavement service they already offer and
help parents rebuild their shattered lives.
The Oban support group, run by Susan Simpson, SiMBA Highland
Ambassador, takes place at the Regent Hotel, Oban on the last
Friday of each month from 7pm - 9pm (not in December). For
further information please contact Susan on 07771 358382
or 01631 720107. Or you can e-mail:

Join us at Oban Phoenix Cinema
on Saturday 28th November for a
special showing of ‘FROZEN’.
(See page 18 for details)
WELCOME TO OBAN WINTER FESTIVAL 2015
Now in its 5th year, Oban Winter Festival has grown to accommodate an
extensive programme of events aimed at people of all ages. It is a ten
day celebration of Oban’s unique culture and community with street
parades, international and local performance acts, fire artists, crafts,
skills, pipers, lantern parades and family fun. We hope that young and
old can join the fun together.
Festival action takes place mainly in the centre of town where getting
from place to place is very easy. Discover Oban’s great shopping and
the bars and restaurants that make this town tick. Take a tour of the local
distillery to sample local malts, or enjoy a relaxing coffee in one of our
many cafes while soaking up the beautiful view of the bay.
For those seeking a more refined entertainment, there are various
literary, language, cinema, music and theatrical events throughout the
festival, offering a chance to learn, participate and celebrate our culture.
For those seeking action, there will be a chance to get involved in
outdoor sports, join in circus skills workshops, dance at a ceilidh,
witness fire art, tour the Horror Gallery and much more.
Should you choose to stay overnight in Oban to enjoy one or more of the
Winter Festival events there are various options for your stay, from top
class hotels and apartments in the town centre to the many excellent
