About The Road to Oprah
This fall, The 1 Second Film documentary crew, joined by Folk/Americana band “The
Love Punks,” will embark on a 45-day 10,000 mile bio-diesel journey across America
in pursuit of a dream– uniting the world through collaborative art. Our road trip ends
in Chicago, where we hope to ask Oprah Winfrey to donate a single dollar to join our
7,500+ Producers from 47 Countries and counting. Along the way we will be visiting
over 30 Universities and house parties, presenting our 5 Phase Plan while raising finishing funds for our film. The journey will be included as part of The 1 Second Filmʼs
“making of” documentary, which will play during the filmʼs 90-minutes of end-credits.
About The 1 Second Film
The 1 Second Film is a grassroots non-profit collaborative film project that anyone can
help produce (and appear in), alongside stars like Kiefer Sutherland, Kevin Bacon, Stephen Colbert, and Christina Ricci, simply by donating $1. The film consists of one-second of animation- giant collaborative murals painted by hundreds of people. Producers
receive a credit in the film as well as a profile on the1secondfilm.com, allowing collaboration in a growing online community. A fun-filled celebrity laden “making of” documentary will play during the filmʼs 90-minutes of credits, detailing how art can bring people
together. All profits from the finished film will be donated to charity. The film is the start
of a 5 Phase Plan to bring the world together, one-second at a time.
The project is the brainchild of Nirvan Mullick, an award-winning director turned social-entrepreneur, who started the film while studying animation at California Institute
of the Arts. The production is overseen by The 1 Second Foundation, Inc., a non-profit
organization devoted to using collaborative art and media to create social change. The
Foundationʼs Board of Directors includes Julie Taymor, Albert Maysles, Stephen Nemeth, and Ben Goldhirsh.

Keynote
The 1 Second Film presentation includes a 1-hour
mulit-media keynote given by award winning director/
creator Nirvan Mullick. Nirvan weaves together documentary footage, photos, and funny stories detailing
the amazing evolution of the film from his student
project into a global collaboration fueled by online
and celebrity support. The 1 Second Foundationʼs
inspirational 5 Phase Plan to bring the world together
is also outlined. Q&A with audience follows.
Audience
The presentation will appeal to everyone, with a special interest for students studying film, art, social-change, marketing, web/graphic design, animation, pop-culture, feminist studies, social-entrepreneurs, philosophy, documentary, online social
networking, international relations, non-profits, and all fans of Stephen Colbert!
After Party with The Love Punks
Touring with The 1 Second Film is the amazing and eclectic Americana/folk rock band “The Love
Punks” who have opened for Tenacious Dʼs Kyle Glass while receiving community-service commendations from L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The Love Punks will perform original songs

Collaborative Events
Local musicians, performers, and artists are invited to participate in our events; jam with The Love
Punks, perform poetry, dance, or exhibit your animation or art. Events will be filmed for inclusion in
The 1 Second Filmʼs “making of” documentary. Participating Universities receive screen credit.
Previous Presentations
The 1 Second Film has been presented at the University of Southern California, Minneapolis
College of Art and Design, UC Santa Cruz, and the TED > LA Conference, engaging and inspiring diverse audiences across the country.

Booking Rates
Rates range from $500 (Keynote only) to $1000 (Keynote + Band Performance). Reduced rates
are available for non-profits and community arts organizations with limited budgets.

About The Director
Nirvan Mullick is an award-winning animator turned social-entrepreneur. His short films have
screened at Cannes, as well as over 100 International Film Festivals, winning dozens of awards
including the AFI FEST Audience and Jury Awards, and a Student Academy Award nomination.
Nirvan began The 1 Second Film while a student at California Institute of the Arts and began
fundraising dollar-by-dollar after developing the project into a non-profit 5 Phase Plan to bring the
world together.
The Love Punks
The Love Punks, aka The Evangenitals, are fronted by Juli Crockett- a retired undefeated professional boxer, accomplished playwright and stage director, and PHD philosophy student turned
hillbilly rocker. Juli is rumored to be the inspiration for Hillary Swankʼs character in the Million Dollar Baby. Backing Juli is Lisa Dee, an operatic soprano with an extensive resume in classical music
and experimental jazz, Brett “Coach” Lyda on guitar, and George Bernardo on drums (who has gigged
with the likes of Chuck Berry and Bo Diddley).

Our Bio-diesel School Bus
Our ride will be a customized school bus converted into a green machine outfitted with a bio-diesel engine, composting toilet, solar panels, sleeping cots, editing rig, performance stage for the
band, and The 1 Second Filmʼs credit stand caboose in tow.
