Fall Winter 2012 About Us TMC is committed to the importance of strong design, lasting quality and exceptional service to our customers. Since introducing our unique, colorful, laser-cut furniture for adults and children, TMC has continuously developed visionary styling for the contract market. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Ann Arbor, Michigan, TMC was started (and is still owned) by artists and designers who share the philosophy that design, innovation and customization are the core to modern US manufacturing. Our interest is not in producing furniture by the container-load. We are enamored of traditional made-toorder production methods and values, and by establishing our factory in Grand Rapids, we have been able to tap the city’s rich history of furniture-craft. With an acclaimed portfolio of captivating laser-cut designs, a beautiful palette of wood finish colors and a broad selection of materials, TMC offers customers a wide selection of highly modular furniture – spanning contemporary Scandinavian styling to traditional Arts & Crafts vernacular. And if you don’t find what you like in our standard product, TMC’s self-developed “options-based” software and production systems will allow you complete customization for seating, casegoods, and built-in millwork. Philosphy TMC has over fourteen years of experience in the library market. Our innovative designs, state-of-the-art manufacturing, and strong ties to the library industry allow us to stay on the pulse of what librarians and patrons are looking for in their community. As the market changes, we look towards new sources of inspiration to design furniture that can predict trends and the changing needs of the modern library visitor. Our design portfolio for libraries offers traditional, transitional, and modern furniture styling that can easily translate to any setting, from the most modern of buildings to a more classic environment. Our diverse artistry skills allow us to create furnishings finished with rich wood stains and intricate cut-outs for one library, while offering simple, lightweight, modular tables and chairs for another. In addition to TMC’s design capabilities, we are regularly invited to attend national library conferences where we gain insights and share concepts among key library directors, architects, and manufacturers. These meetings provide invaluable knowledge to the TMC team, which results in our ability to offer timeless library furniture that is well made and conscientiously designed. Our custom capabilities are another strong suit of TMC. The skilled artists in our design department regularly collaborate with our manufacturing team to produce furniture that is crafted to a specific space. Using unique cut-outs, custom colors, or a completely new design, our team can create a focal point for your library, study rooms, common areas and more. Looking for a different way to add color and customization to a library?
