use is for you.
Welcome your guests with a relaxed BBQ or buffet on the eve of
your wedding.
Your guests wake following a comfortable sleep, and are already a
part of the wedding atmosphere.
With no travel commitments they are able to partake
in a leisure activity or spend a luxurious few hours preparing for your
wedding.
All guests resident in the hotel have a full Scottish breakfast
included in their rate.

The Venue
The Roxburghe is proud to be distinct from other wedding venues as a luxurious country residence with a homely atmosphere.
The public rooms, including the Library Bar, Dining Room, Conservatory and Drawing Room,
are all spacious and true to their original decorative form with high ceilings, cornicing and
ornate detail. They have been thoughtfully furnished with timeless pieces and family
antiques,
while the décor nods to the estates Scottish heritage with a classic finish.

Marquee Weddings
The Roxburghe Hotel is a family house dating back 10 generations, and the Bride and Groom
who celebrate their special day with us will truly appreciate the unique nature of this beautiful
venue.
We respect that the now public rooms were intimate, family areas, and although they are
generously spacious, we will never be insincere to this principle by overpopulating the main
house.
We also appreciate that the Roxburghe has always been a home open to all, and enjoyed
by many, so for weddings larger than 64, a White New Century marquee with American
Redwood flooring, ivory pleated lining and swags, double glazed doors, heating and eight
arm chandeliers is the perfect solution.
The Bride and Groom who wish to have a large number present for the entire day can
hold their ceremony and meal in the Marquee, as well as enjoying exclusivity of the Main
House throughout the day. The marquee will be situated on the lawn, surrounded by the
gardens and looking onto the grand entrance of the Roxburghe.
Should you just wish to invite additional guests for the evening reception; a dancing marquee can be attached to the side of the hotel, where guests can
enjoy the frivolities with an evening buffet.
Dining
Dining at the Roxburghe is about more than simply eating a meal; it’s about enjoying the finest in locally sourced
produce, prepared by our talented team of chefs, in a refined and picturesque setting.
Our Head Chef, Neville Merrin has honed his extensive skills in three AA rosette country house hotels, and now
brings his passion and ingenuity to the Roxburghe’s modern British menu.
We shamelessly take advantage of the abundance of produce cultivated in the surrounding areas, proudly and
responsibly sourcing from local farmers and estates.
All dishes are prepared by the kitchen. Let us know about any allergies and dietary requirements and the chefs
will be happy to offer alternatives.
To complement the standard of food is a fine choice of wines including the Duke’s selection from his own private
cellar and an extensive whisky selection for the after dinner dram.

A wedding at the Roxburghe is so much more than a special day. It’s a truly magical weekend.
Having meticulously planned your day, our wedding co-ordinator will welcome you upon arrival the day before your wedding, ensuring that every detail is
as you have dreamed for your celebration. This is the time for the Bride and Groom to relax and let the festivities begin…
The afternoon is yours to enjoy at your leisure, perhaps with a glass of champagne on the patio, afternoon tea by the fire, or simply welcoming your guests
with a stroll in the grounds, this is the perfect opportunity for you to become better acquainted with the Hotel and the staff who will take care of you at
your wedding.
We like to make sure the meal on the eve of your wedding is a memorable occasion for those special guests spending the weekend with you. Dining can be
as traditional as a 3-course dinner in the dining room, to something as relaxed as a BBQ on the lawn. If the ladies decide they want to monopolise the Bride
one last time before she is a married woman we can even arrange private dining in the Roxburghe Room.
After dinner, retire to the Library Bar, take in the country house ambience, and sample one of Scotland’s finest selections of malt whiskies.
Awake the next morning to a traditional Scottish breakfast. Whether you choose locally smoked salmon, haggis or porridge, it will all be freshly prepared by
our Chef, and his brigade. In adhering to tradition, the bride is encouraged to enjoy her breakfast in The Bowmont Suite with her bridesmaids, where she
has no chance of encountering the Groom.
We do like to do things thoroughly here at the Roxburghe, so the Groom will be whisked away to the championship Golf Course for a round, no doubt with
Best Man in tow; this will leave plenty of time for the ladies to indulge in the luxurious treatments of our Health and Beauty Specialists.
As the piper begins playing, the beautiful bride descends the staircase, whilst the Groom awaits at the altar. Whether you choose to partake in a religious or
civil ceremony, the Roxburghe is the perfect setting to say ‘I do’.
The happy newly-weds now have the entire Hotel and grounds as a backdrop for their wedding pictures; romantic scenes by the fireplace, wedding party
banter by the 14th hole, or groups shots on the lawn… Roxburghe House is your home for the day.
The Wedding Breakfast, your first meal together as Man and Wife, is a special affair. Prepared by our team of expert chefs, it conveys the best of Scottish
culinary creativity, and pays tribute to its unrivalled native produce.
Following your meal, and speeches that will undoubtedly bring laughter and teary eyes in equal measures, it’s time to enjoy a Scottish shindig. Dance to a
Ceilidh band, enjoy a disco or partake of a few drams in the Library Bar. For those who have worked up an appetite a late night supper of stovies will be just
the thing.
Revel in your beautiful country house, acknowledging the commitment you have made to one another, and to cap it all, step outside to marvel at a
spectacular fireworks display. A truly magical way to celebrate your special day.

The way you choose to say your vows is as personal and individual as any other aspect of your wedding. However you wish to conduct your ceremony, we
can provide beautiful surroundings.
The conservatory is a perfect year round venue, whether the backdrop is spring flowers, or a carpet of autumnal leaves. During the summer months you can
say ‘I do’ by the water fountain and in the winter your guests can enjoy your union overlooking the croquet lawn and spreading oak tree.
If you wish to get married in a church, or any other place of worship, we will happily advise you so that your day is as you had always hoped.

We will ensure a seamless transition from the initial enquiry, to the viewing of the House and planning of the big day, right through to the final touches on

This service is especially useful for couples organising their wedding from afar. As friends and family can sometimes be spread around the globe, this makes
coming together for a wedding all the more important.
