The subject is; how do we speak to our children? It is so easy to criticize our children when: [you can finish the rest]. How hard it seems to take time to compliment them. Why do we take our frustrations out on the ones who love us the most? How do we speak to our children? Psalm 106:33, “Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.” Proverbs 15:1; “A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.” Eph 4:29; “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” Since we are around our children all the time it sometimes becomes difficult to stay positive. Just like our Faith, we need to daily work on building our “tongue cage”. Always faithful, God has encouragement for us: Proverbs 16:21-24; “The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increases learning. Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him who has it: but the instruction of fools is folly. The heart of the wise teaches his mouth and adds learning to his lips. Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” Let us not give up. Just as we wait on our children to grasp a lesson or concept, we must continue to realize that our Heavenly Father is waiting on us to continue to improve. Proverbs 16:20; “He who handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.” Yea!! Hallelujah!! Remember, our children are learning from us! Trust in Jesus and build your faith, Don Gauthreaux Your 2009-2010 Birthday Wishes! From all of C.H.E.F.
