Of Lafayette NEWSLETTER April 2011 ~ Issue #9 God directs our steps not our mile. He sees us 5 days, 5 weeks, 5 months, and 5 years from now. He knows what we need. He knows the how, the why, and what we need at the proper time. God gives us everything we need to carry out what we are supposed to carry out! What else could He give us that would cause us to do what we are called to do? Really, think a second. What do we not have,…..that we need,….to carry out the call of God? In Psalm 78, we are told not to hide, from our children, the praises, strength, and wonderful works that the LORD has done. Also, that our children would set their hope in God and not forget His works, but keep His Commandments. This is the only way to a successful life. Where else in this “world” are our children going to hear and be taught this most valuable information? From us, only! God directs our daily steps. He equips us to educate our children. 1 John 2:27; “But, the Anointing which you have received of Him…”. The school year is nearing an end! You have survived another one. You can’t stop now. Your children’s future depends on your commitment. The best way to stay dedicated to your family is to stay in the Word of God. Another way to stay committed to your children is to attend your State’s Home School Convention. See you there! Remember parents, our children are learning from us! Mom As a blessed wife, and homeschool mother of 4 children....I encourage your family to attend the 24th Annual CHEF State Homeschool Convention and can say that our entire family has done so 14 out of the past 15 years we have been home educating. We consider it a family retreat! We always leave there refreshed, inspired and equipped to begin our next year. We are truly blessed to have CHEF Leaders, who voluntarily (these are truly volunteer positions) take time to do this for all home education families from Louisiana and surrounding states. These leaders are people with their own families, their own businesses of work, who have a serious vision for the future of our families and our children in protecting our rights to homeschool. Our children will take Home Education only as serious as we do. Get a vision for this blessed journey that will truly benefit your marriage, and the future of your children. Please realize there are a variety of sessions and workshops that discuss topics on marriage, families as well as homeschooling involvement for the Dads and Moms, and legislative updates regarding home education. Please pray for the CHEF of LA. leaders, your local CHEF of Lafayette leaders, and all the other convention volunteers as they plan and make preparations for this year's event. Pray about your involvement in volunteering and attending this year's Convention. It is a pleasure and truly a blessing to be a part of this support group. See you all there! Contact Person: Laura Horn [email protected] or 337-394-8919 Pg. 5 Home court Advantage “Gratitude” Submitted by; Nichole DeLine Gratitude Here’s a word that covers a broad spectrum! There are many things in our lives that we are grateful for such as family, friends, food, shelter, health, etc. The list could go on and on, couldn’t it? Well, what about homeschooling? I can think back to many times in my life that I did not have a heart of gratitude towards homeschooling. I faced it with dread. I thought that it was just part of my cross that I had to bear. Then one day, the Lord revealed to me that being called to homeschool is a privilege and an honor. It is not our burden to bear, but HIS! We had a great time. Thank you Monica for hosting this event. Thank you ladies for allowing me the opportunity to minister to you. Can't wait until the next time. There's always room for more!!! ~ Nichole DeLine “Give me understanding, that I may keep Your law; yes, I will observe it with my whole heart.” ~ Psalm 119:34 Pg. 6 1 T h e s s a l o n i a n s 5 : 18 s a y s , “ I n everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Thank you, Father, for the gift of schooling our children and the opportunity to train them to love and serve you. I pray that your will be done in each of our homes and that our children always see Jesus’ reflection in us. Help us to always have an “attitude of gratitude.” ~ Nichole De Line-HCA Pg. 7
