Faux Etched Copper Tutorial June/July 2010 Allie Gower from Croppinsville and I were playing with copper metal pieces at CHA this winter and we came up with this very cool technique. The final piece looked like etched copper! Supplies: - Copper Metal Sheet - 2 Embossing Folders - Embossing Machine (Cuttlebug, Big Shot, etc) - 2 Alcohol Ink Colors - Blending Solution - Felt Blending Tool or Cosmetic Sponge - Sanding Block Step One: Apply a couple of drops of each alcohol ink ito the felt applicator/ sponge. © 2002-2010Patstamps.com Step Two: Place a few drops of blending solution onto the applicator. Step Three: Dab the alcohol ink over the copper until covered with color. Allow the ink to dry. Step Four: Step Five: Step Five Continued Step Six: Place the copper piece into one of the embossing folders and use the embossing machine to dry emboss. © 2002-2010Patstamps.com Use the sanding block to sand the alcohol ink off the embossed portion of the copper piece. Place the copper piece under the embossing folder (NOT inside it) and run through the embossing machine again to flatten the embossing. Step Six Continued Step Seven: Step Eight: Step Nine: Remove the piece from the folder and use the black permanent ink to highlight the raised portions of the embossed piece. (Optional) Place the copper piece under the embossing folder (NOT inside it) and run through the embossing machine again to flatten the embossing. Use as desired.
