Starch Smoosh Tutorial
Starch Smoosh Tutorial August/September 2009 I love dramatic bursts of color. This technique came out of experimentation -- always the best kind of technique! Although I used black glossy cardstock, you can get a totally different look with white cardstock. Supplies: - Spray Starch - 2 Colors of Pearl Ex, Moonglow Powders, Perfect Pearls, or other Pearl/Mica Powder - Black or White Glossy Cardstock - Heat Tool - Non-Stick Craft Sheet of Wax Paper Step One: Spray a generous amount of starch onto the non-stick craft sheet. © 2002-2009Patstamps.com Step Two: Shake both colors of Pearl Ex onto different areas of the starch on the craft sheet. The sheet does not need to be covered. Step Three: Step Four: Smoosh the black glossy cardstock face-down into the starch/Pearl Ex. Lift the cardstock straight up and place face-upon the work surface. Step Five: Step Six: Allow the starch to dry a bit, then use the heat tool to dry the starch further. If the Pearl Ex starts to bubble or pop, remove the heat. Use as a background as desired. Finished Card Artwork: Pat Huntoon Stamps: Stampin’ Up!
