PRESIDENT’S COLUMN
Hello everyone. We had a great turnout on August 6th
for the Rockin’ Under the Stars event and great weather
too. In fact, all of our club events have had great
weather. We made great money with a total of over
$9500.00 for the evening. A big “Thank You” for all of
the great volunteers that helped make this a good time.
Of course with Good Ole Days in August, “Thank
You” Lynn Lash for this great event to and to the many
volunteers.
Other dates coming up are September 17th “Beef
Cookout” and “The Haunted Forest” event in October.
Dates are October 20, 21, & 22 and the following week of
October 27, 28 & 29. Please see Sam Mullins for this
event - plenty of
help need for this too.
Kids, don`t forget the
Halloween party in the club house
on the 29th of October with a DJ
and free candy. Food will be
available in the kitchen for a cost.
Time is 6pm till 9pm.
Don`t forget to get your early
deer license for private landowners
in September.
Gun a Week tickets for 2017 are out, be sure to get
yours - they run out very fast. $25.00 for the year and if
you get lucky to win a gun, your winning ticket goes back
in for another draw.
As of this writing, we have had 720 members pay their
dues.
We also have a new bartender, Michele, stop in the bar
and introduce yourself. If she asks for your membership
card, please show her, for she is only doing her job.

Barry, our club manager brought to my attention that
we are in need of an electrician to do some work around
the club. Please see Barry so we do not have to hire one.
At the August at the General Meeting Night we had
vascular doctors from Huron Valley Hospital giving out
free exams on circulation areas of our bodies. We had a
good turnout for that. Thank you doctors for your time.
I was also told that they also had great shooting skills and
did very well at the range.
Come Out and Enjoy Our Club ~Glenn

The next Texas Hold’em event will be at The 300 Club in
September. He received information from Heroes on the
Water seeking information for an event with date(s) to be
forthcoming. August meeting is Kids’ Night; all chairmen are
asked to keep their reports short. Our recent events were well
attended, thank you to all the volunteers.
VICE PRESIDENT's REPORT: John LaFave
John having been called to work left Kruckenberg to present
the VP report. Calendar of dates were provided for review.
MOTION: Kruckenberg/Brennecke to accept the dates as
presented. Motion Carried. The club will be holding a raffle for
a Canadian bear hunt for June 13-18 2017. Tickets will be
$20 each with a total of 200 tickets available. The ticket is all
inclusive except transportation. The Beef Cook-Out is
September 17, 2016. Thank you Dennis for stepping up and
handling the event.
RECORDING SECRETARY's REPORT: Jim Ashcraft
Jim read correspondence from Highland Recreation Area
regarding phase I of their project.
Jim also mentioned he will be out of town for August
Membership meeting as well as September Board meeting
and would appreciate someone taking minutes for those
meetings during his absence.
MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY'S REPORT: Rich Carlson
Rich provided a list of Suspended members. If you know
anybody on the list, please give them a call.
Rich also passed out current application for membership for
review. MOTION: Carlson/Smith to approve the application
as presented. Motion Carried. Rich also presented an idea of
giving a free shooting coupon with membership applications
taken at Good Old Days. Discussion followed. MOTION:
Carlson/Brennecke to provide a gift certificate for one range
fee of choice with each application taken at Good Old Days.
Motion Carried.

TREASURER's REPORT: Jim Howie
Howie presented the financial status of the club showing the
club in a decent financial condition for this time of the year.
MOTION: Ashcraft/Howie to receive and file July Treasurer’s
report as presented. Motion Carried.
MANAGER's REPORT: Barry Anderson
Barry would like to thank Mike Smith for the handrail he built.
He also reminded everyone the morning crew is always
looking for help. Thank you to Sal Ferra and all the volunteers
for Rocking on Reed Lake. Same goes to everyone involved
with Rockin’ Under the Stars. Clean up on Sunday was done
in record time by Troop #170 and the parents. The main
kitchen freezer had a new compressor installed on July 30th
at a cost of $2,519.16. The furnace/AC at Skeet & Trap
needs replaced at approximately $3,500. Indoor Range
House #1 East HVAC compressor is bad again. This unit was
replaced last year and we’re waiting on warranty information.
We are in desperate need for an electrician for immediate
repairs. Please help or we will have to hire an outside firm.
Huron Valley Hospital Vascular Surgeons will be at the club
for free vascular screenings on August meeting night as well
as Good Old Days. Barry requested vacation for October 14,
17-19 and November 15-17 & 25. MOTION: Kruckenberg/
Lynch to approve Barry’s vacation dates as requested.
Motion Carried. Barry also mentioned date conflict on a
liquor license for The Beef Cook Out. MOTION: Ashcraft/
Lynch to move The Beef Cook Out from June 18 to
September 17, 2016. Motion Carried.
OPERATIONS MANAGER: Dave Fisher
Dave stated Bingo was doing well until this past week.
Workers were in short supply. We need this program to
continue in a positive direction. Our recent audit by the
gaming commission went well but not perfect. Preliminary
numbers for Rockin’ Under the Stars are looking down a little
form last year. Dave also stated he took care of our insurance
maintaining our compliance with state law.
STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS: None.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS: None.
OLD BUSINESS:
Bill Brennecke says there is a noticeable lack of interest in
the club championship shoot. He has trimmed the number of
disciplines required in order to lower the cost.
NEW BUSINESS:
Jim Ashcraft updated everyone on the current status of the
phones. As mentioned numerous times over the past years, it
is too out of date to maintain or repair with another failure.
Last week, the system went down permanently. A new
system was ordered and arrived today. Hopefully by
tomorrow it will be in place and functional. Thank you to
previous member Mark Campbell for giving up a Sunday to
help patch and install a band-aide to maintain two temporary
lines for the office and bar.
Harvey Cooper inquired as to the current status of Good Old
Days and the organizational planning. Kruckenberg as well as
management all agreed things are coming together nicely.
Lynn has done a nice job thus far.
MOTION: Kruckenberg/Brennecke to adjourn @ 9:25 PM.
Motion Carried

CLUB ALL‐AROUND SHOOTING CHAMPION Starts Now with Changes Talking with people, it seems the $100 fee is holding people back. I will change that to a $15 fee (covers plaques & printing) and you are responsible for fees at each range. There are now 9 different shooting activities at this club, and each one is different unto itself. If you have never tried each one, it might be good to practice that one a few times, before shooting for score. I know some disciplines are seasonal, so I have been told that special shoot times have been set up for these shoots. It would only be fair to the discipline that at least 10 shooters sign up for that shoot. There will be score cards for you to keep track of your shooting, and a secondary sheet to be turned in by the range officer of that discipline. The chairperson of each discipline will have a standard course of fire. Score cards available at the bar. If you don’t have the gun or equipment necessary for the particular shooting activity, it can be provided with prior notice. The all‐around shooter will be announced at the Workers Appreciation Dinner. If there are any questions call Bill Brennecke at 248‐921‐9035 All shooting needs to be done, and score cards turned in by Dec. 11, 2016. HAPPY
