PRESIDENT’S COLUMN
As I write this, summer 2014 is nearing the
end. Yesterday was our annual Good Old Days.
Turned out to be a beautiful day and the event
went well. This year the big hit was the Gatling
Guns again. I don't think
we will ever get bored with
them. The last rumor that
I heard was we shot up
around 4500 rounds of
45-70 ammo. I do know
that they were busy all day.
The crew that works that
event, - a well deserved
thank you.
The band thisyear again played until after
midnight and a great time was had by all. Thank
you to all the people that worked very hard to
make this a successful event .
Our next major event is the Haunted Forest.
Anyone that is interested in helping or working
to support this major undertaking, please
contact me. There will be continual updates on
the bulletin board or over the clubhouse sign.
Please register from now until the event.
Fall and winter shooting leagues are right
around the corner. Support your club and join
one. On a side note, it's not too soon to get
your deer rifles sighted in before the crowds of
sight in days.
Lastly, our very own Kevin Sims attended the
Cardinal Classic ATA shoot in Columbus, Ohio
last Saturday, (while some of us were slaving
away here at Good Old Days). Kevin won the
class B championship with a score of 199/200.
That's some very good representation for
MLCA.

KID’S FISHING CLINIC DEJA-VU’
Kylie Ryan, a six year old who participated in our
June Kid’s Fishing Clinic had a friend visiting from
Japan – five year old Haruka Tanabe. Kylie’s mom
asked if the tiny visitor, three feet tall and about 60
pounds, could have the same fishing experience
as her daughter.
Both kids and their moms showed up at Reed
Lake on a very hot July afternoon and little Haruka
learned to cast her fishing lures within ten minutes
– her rod and reel was certainly bigger than her.
Also includes:
Salad, Coleslaw, Veggie,
Baked Potatoes & Fries
$9.00 Adults $6.50 Children 5-12
50¢ discount for Seniors over 62
Help Support Your Club!
Everyone caught lots of fish with our small
Japanese visitor catching the biggest one – as has
been the case at all of our clinics – the littlest kid
has caught the biggest fish.
