The Christian Visitor First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 301 North 7th Street P.O. Box 626 Atchison, Kansas 66002-0626 (913) 367-3036 – office (913) 367-1513 – fax E-Mail: [email protected] Website: fccatchison.net Office Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am – 4 pm Rev. R. Lee Hendon, Senior Minister 814 Green Street, Atchison (913) 367-0085 E-Mail: [email protected] [Published September 26, 2012] Sent to you with love! CALLING ALL YOUNG ADULTS As you all know the new co-associate ministers, Kassie and Travis, are on staff and working away. It is our hope and prayer that they will give a new focus and connection in our church for our young adults and children/youth. They cannot do this on their own. We must do our part by reaching out to engage them and welcome their ideas and suggestions for the present and future growth of FCC. At the moment, young adults means 18 to 40(ish). If this includes you (or one of your family members) please take time to show, really show your support and encouragement for their ministries. Do not play "Hide & Seek" but "Rover, Red Rover." Jump in and let’s get our young adult ministries on fire with new direction and meaning. The old adage is true, "help us help you." A new young adult class has been started and the goal is to have young adult fellowships. Small group formation is on the horizon. Be sure and welcome them as newlyweds on October 21 at 2 p.m. in Wolf Hall. We are at the getting to know you stage and this wedding reception is a great way to get things rolling! Thanks to the C.W.F. for sponsoring this event. This is a great opportunity for us to turn up the excitement and involvement levels in our church. We must not be content to sit on our hands and do nothing. When opportunities like this come a knockin' we gotta open the door and let them come in to enrich and invigorate our lives. What can you do to make Kassie and Travis' ministries a huge success at FCC? Let's make it happen by working together in Christian love and unity. Happy to be your minister, Pastor Lee.
